Vent as needed

Just terrible. How this team continues to disappoint, it is painful.

Time to take money I was going to spend on these playoffs, and enjoy a better summer vacation.

I honestly see this playoff (combined with the last few years), being a ticket killer for next season. Who will want to spend hard earned money on that kind of effort?

The playoff atmosphere in STL was great....until the Blues started to lose confidence. Hard for the fans to have confidence when you see the team does not. Who wants to spend hundreds of dollars to watch a team fail so painfully?

Give me a hard working underdog team over this crap. At least the efoort will be constant.

Mindless meanderingrant over

Why don't we have a "smiley" (figure) of a character kicking the wall? We don't even have one knocking his head against the wall.

This is really frustrating. At 69 years old, I feel like joining a beer league for "seniors" (oldies), and knocking a bunch of players into the boards (and the refs and linesmen, too! -and even my own teammates! And the goal judge! -And then running up into the stands and picking fights with fans!

I'm tired. I've come to realize that I don't even enjoy watching games anymore. If the team wins, I'm relieved, not happy. This is the type of game I've started expecting, and it's hard to even want to tune in. I've been around on the various Blues forums since the mid 90's, and this is the most negative I can remember feeling. Even after Pronger was traded, there always seemed to be a silver lining.

There is little positive I can take from this team right now. Changing the coach isn't enough--but there is only so much you can do without a firesale.

Stastny has been as bad of a signing as McKee.
Oshie, Backes, Berglund. The old core. Break it up.
The fact that Gunnarson was playing over Lindbohm, Butler, or Bortuzo (injury?) is disgusting.
Michalek was a bad signing.
I really like Jackman, but I think it's time to go or ride the bench as #7.

Took the Hawks to OT four times. Took the Kings to OT twice. Meanwhile each loss against the Wild was by 2 or more goals, and the last three losses were by 3 goals. Basically after Game 1 we either won the game handily, or weren't in it at all.

I'm drunk (spent the afternoon at Mizzou with my son and the lacrosse team), I'm pissed, I'm ambivalent, and I'm more convinced than ever that I'm going to fucking die without ever seeing the Blues win a Cup. But hey, at least there is pussy. Oh wait......I've been married for too long so I don't get pussy either.

Ok, seriously, free 2nd round Blues playoff tickets to anyone that will put a fucking bullet in my head!

Looks like the Blues players didn't want to deal with the drama and unknown of OT.

I think we need a solid house cleaning. Starting with Hitch and every coach (with the possible exception of Muller). I'm a fan of Armstrong as well, but I'd be ok if he is gone as well. Anyone interested in Ted Nolan? I know he doesn't play well with management at times, but I seem to have the thought that he works well with the youngsters. No clue who we get for GM. Al MacInnis is around, would he want the job? Would we want him to take the job?

On to the players; my though process is we need to get rid of most, if not all, of the core. We need Tarasenko, Schwartz, Fabbri, Barbashev and all of our young new core to understand that under this ownership group just making the playoffs will not be considered a successful season like so many previous ownership groups. I was a fan for most of that 25 year playoff run where there were only 2 conference final appearances. It seemed that most were just interested in keeping the streak alive. No longer.

I believe that we have an ownership group that is more interested in creating a winner and not making a fortune. I don't know if that's been the case in a long time, or ever. Sure, they would love to make a profit, but they also know that a team needs to win to make money and that's not happening right now. 27 playoff games in the last 4 seasons with a fine record of 10-17. That's what this group, from GM to coach to core players have accomplished. That is not acceptable and I hope Stillman and company feel the same way.

The Blues need to start a new culture of success and not continue the culture of mediocrity. Regular season success is only important to the extent that we make the playoffs. The only measuring stick that matters from this day forward can only be playoff success. An 82-0 regular season would sure set a lot of NHL records, but if it's followed by a first round playoff exit, then it was yet another failure. Do we want to become the Atlanta Braves of hockey when we can't even sell out a playoff game? That's where we are heading.

I really think major changes are what this team needs to show the young talent that what we have seen the last 4 seasons is not acceptable. I'm just glad it's not me that has to make all these decisions, because it would be difficult not to go overboard. If Armstrong is going to be 'excused' from his position, then that has to happen within 48 hours and we should be informed that Hitch will not be offered a new deal at the same time.

What happens this off season will have a major impact on how much interest I have when October rolls around.

I'm in a way relieved, because this pathetic performance has snapped me out of homerism and allowed me to move on from players like Oshie and Backes. Hopefully Backes will save some extra puppies with his time off, and Oshie can find a new hairstyle to fit his current M.O. It will give Steen some time to shake off a few concussions and work on placing the puck in wide open nets.

All we ask for in st. Louis is max effort. That's why we've supported these medium-skilled players for so long. No longer! Even Berglund knows when to show up and get angry! I'm all for a rebuild. We've got the youngsters ready to step in and give us a Calgary-like turnaround.

Tarasenko, Schwartz, Fabbri, Barbashev, Lindbohm, Parayko, Jaskin, Rattie, Schmaltz, Binnington, Husso....make room for these guys. Trade the pussies for other young studs and draft picks.

I'd pay good money to see that.

It would be fun and therapeutic even for viewers.

When I read about Backes fighting Tarasenko for not taking things seriously I knew something was wrong with this team. Stastny's quote about recovering after a loss confirmed earlier suspicions about the mentality of the leadership. Ever since Andy Murray was the coach the Blues have been searching for 60 mins of hockey and here we are still searching for it...in the playoffs. I have never heard of a hockey team that doesn't try in the playoffs. When I saw the effort in game one I knew these guys were not going far, and they were quick to confirm that. Simply stated...this team has no leadership...Hitch is a crazy old dude, but he can only do so much damage, he didn't make Backes skate around lifeless today. This loss may be a blessing in disguise, and hopefully the team is able to get a #1 centermen to replace Capt Cry Bags.

I'll be honest I didn't think that Backes and Tarasenko's fight was a big deal but I was wrong. Backes has no place, no fucking place to question Tarasenko's heart or dedication, or whatever that thing was about. Tarasenko is 10X the player Backes will ever be. I can't wait to be rid of several of these guys.
