2Had higher hopes for Texier than what we’ve gotten out of him.

Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
3He's got a lot of work to do on his game. Heplayed all the way through Juniors level in France's highest Junior leagues, which is 3-4 steps down from Major Junior Leagues in Canada, an 3 steps down from The USHL. Since then, before playing for The Blue jackets in The NHL, he played in the highest Swiss League, which is 2 steps down from Finland's Liiga, and Sweden's SHL. So, He's not had a high level of experience. Not surprising that he's somewhat green around the edges. He's an energy guy and decent on The PK, and should be on a 4th line, rather than a 3rd.Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 4:40 pm Had higher hopes for Texier than what we’ve gotten out of him.
Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
4We have about 6 players that I'm hoping one or two will step up to be more than 4th liners. I'm hoping Toropchenko can be a solid, forechecking, 'complimentary' player on a scoring line, and that would leave Texier, M. Joseph, Sundqvist, Walker, and Faksa for the 4th line.Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 4:40 pm Had higher hopes for Texier than what we’ve gotten out of him.

5Yeah, I did too. He really hasn't done much.Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 4:40 pm Had higher hopes for Texier than what we’ve gotten out of him.
Hope someone takes Saad off of our hands soon.
Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
6Toropchenko should attend the same "Finishing School" as Kyrou. Maybe The Blues could bring back Alumni to give them some pointers and work with them.......Hull, Turgeon, Tkachuk, Federko, MacInnis?RAFritchey wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 5:09 pmWe have about 6 players that I'm hoping one or two will step up to be more than 4th liners. 7I need him to go to the Jake Neighbours school of finishing. He should live in the opponents crease area.Robb_K wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 6:48 pmToropchenko should attend the same "Finishing School" as Kyrou. 10Fowler has looked good in his couple games, so far, and has shored up the porous Blues' defence somewhat.

11Careful, a couple more good games and Army will give a 4 year full NTC contractRobb_K wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 7:25 pm Fowler has looked good in j=his couple games, so far, and has shored up the porous Blues' defence somewhat.

13Till age 37??? Not unusual for The Blues. Doug Harvey played defence for them when he was 42!Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 7:26 pmCareful, a couple more good games and Army will give a 4 year full NTC contractRobb_K wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 7:25 pm Fowler has looked good in j=his couple games, so far, and has shored up the porous Blues' defence somewhat.![]()

Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
14Kyrou's shot hits the post after changing directions twice banking off a player's stick or two!
Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
15Great drive by Holloway and move to get by the defence! Too bad he couldn't finish!
Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
16I like just about everything about Toropchenko's game. He's always on the move, hitting, blocking shots, frustrating the other team and contributing in a lot of ways, his motor always running at full speed. He's got decent size and skating, if he could put up some points too he could really elevate a couple of more skill-focused linemates to something terrifying for opponents.Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 7:15 pm Speaking of Torpo, what a hit! Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
17Gotta love John Kelly, describing a great sprint towards the net by Toropchenko, and a pass sent for him (from behind, where he couldn't even know it was sent), hit the back of his rear skate, and Kelly says: "Long pass to Toropchenko, too bad he couldn't handle it!" Intimating he could have scored a goal if only he could have handled it.
Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
18Not a great 1st Period by The Blues. They were on their heels too much, and had trouble again getting out of their own zone.
Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
21Now The Blues will need to kill off a penalty, after a long, tiring delay.
Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
23The Devils had 2 big, heavy players right in front that three much smaller Blues couldn't move. They give up the goal, and also get another penalty for crosschecking, and go on The PK again.
Re: GDT: St. louis Blues vs NJ Devils -7:00 12/17
24The Blues ability to get shots on net these last few games has been nearly non existent.
