I was reading an article how the nhl needs to fix contracts bc a team like toronto had to pay "x" amount more for a player than a team like florida due to taxes.

When florida wins, the last 4 out of 5 sc winners will be tax-free teams (tbl, tbl, vgk, fla)

While i do agree there IS something to be said about that, I don't agree that it's "why they won"
Now now, the Canadian Government has apologized for Bryan Adams on SEVERAL occasions!

Doesn't seem to be an issue in the other league's, all of which have at least a soft cap or luxury tax. Just loser talk from the high tax area teams.

Well... The nfl is a one and done fluke games can happen, nba im not sure of their cap structure, and if the mlb has one...its not very effective will be my only counterpoint...

Goes to show you what happens when one team lets up and the other team keeps it going. You get your ass kicked - ha. I wouldn’t mind Game 5 going into overtime. Would make things interesting and give the series some suspense for a change.

I think that’s a thing. Both in the NBA and NHL the team up 3-0 absolutely mailed it in for game 4.
I noticed that too. Idk the strategy behind the celtics, but fla this will be their 1st and they know they can dominate so maybe it's a "give it to the fans" kinda thing.

I wish WE would've won on home ice, but that series was too close to cut it, this series isn't even close

I'm not sure it's a conscious thought going into the game but I think once things start to get tough or go a bit wrong in game 4, it's easy to just give up on it and say we'll just go win it at home when you're up 3-0.

I think it also is a case of the other team not wanting to lose on home ice. They go all out every game, but there's that extra extra gear brought on by fear of losing in front of you neighbor and your kid's kindergarten teacher.

Oilers shocking the hockey world with a Game 5 road win down 3-1. How many people outside of Edmonton thought they had a chance here?

Great job by the Oilers. They played a great game tonight. Turning the series around against a team like Florida is no small feat. Edmonton showing they belong in the Finals.

Fla proved they can win in Edm, but if they don't Edm had proved they can win in Fla.

Edm was the 1st team ever to force a game 6, while on the road, in the finals, and teams that were 3-0 in the finals are 27-1. Can McJesus make it 27-2??

Seeing a superstar, (actually both McDavid and Tkachuk) not giving up on a play is what separates them from other players.

I've seen too many players over the years we thought were hot shit who didn't have the level of intensity.
