But Thomas grabs the loose puck, skates up ice all alone and makes a deke that makes the goalie lean, and makes no mistake, popping th puck in, by him for the shorty!!!! Blues tie it up at 1!!!!!

That's The Blues' 10th shorthanded goal this season, leading The NHL!

A mostly good 1st Period by The Blues in which they hustled in all zones. and played good team defence, except for one prolonged breakdown, in which they gave up the goal. They gave up only 4 shots on goal. But I'll take 2 more periods like that, with just one more goal than The Avs get.

I think it's only 9 short handed goals, which still ties us for first in the NHL, with fewer times on the PK.

Still:

The Blues have scored 11 goals on 101 PP opportunities. 10.89%

They've scored 9 goals on 93 penalty kills. 9.68%

If our PP were even AVERAGE (around 20%), we'd have another 10 goals or so, and most likely easily be in a wild-card spot.

The Blues have played well in all 3 zones during both periods. They've given up only 4 SOG in The 1st, and 7 in the 2nd. They need to do that in The 3rd, as well. It would be nice if they could score on the 1 minute left in the power play, and defend well to the end.
