Re: GDT: Blues at Devils 6:00 1/5

The Devils have been great this year, but have rivaled the Blues in terms of streakiness this year. The fans were chanting to have their coach fired 2 games into the season, then proceeded to win 19 of their next 22 games. Later, they had a 6 game losing streak during their current 3-9 run. Lots of talent. Removing expectations and looking forward to a fun watch.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!

The Blues have been outplayed most of this game, but, luckily, they are tied on the scoreboard, where it counts. They always play sloppily in their own end, but with O'Reilly AND Tarasenko both out, they can only ice ONE dependable scoring line, and that really hurts their scoring ability, and ability to keep the puck in the opponents' zone for extended periods, And THAT, in turn, leads to a lot more time in their own zone, where bad things can happen. When both O'Reilly and Tarasenko are traded approaching the trade deadline, the team's offence will really dry up (assuming much of the returns will be in the form of high draft choices, and maybe a couple prospects not near being NHL-ready. But, it is the best thing for The Blues to do, so I'm for it.

That was a VERY questionable call on Faulk to put The blues down by two men. But, at least Bortuzzo makes a great block and The Blues get a clear. But, unfortunately The Blues give up the goal, anyway before the first penalty expired. So There is still a minute left of penalty to kill.
