32. Winnipeg Jets
Net Rating added: -36
Salary added: -$20 million

Key Additions: Kaapo Kahkonen

Key Departures: Tyler Toffoli, Sean Monahan, Brenden Dillon, Nate Schmidt, Laurent Brossoit

I was a bit surprised with how good the Jets were last season, but it looks like they're on the way back down. Looks like on paper there is a clear top 3 in the Central (DAL, COL, NSH) rather than a clear top 4.
Eh, a bit misleading. Monahan and Toffoli were both late season adds so it's tough to count them. Also they are getting presumably a full year from Vilardi.

Assuming Hellebyuck is still his usual self there's no reason to expect a big drop off for them.
They've gotta get him some more rest. He was the rightful Vezina winner last year, but was not himself in the playoffs. Thought maybe they had a dire backup situation, but no, Brossoit had a .927 save % but only made 22 starts. Not giving him at least 30 seems like a big whiff by the coaching staff given that they were comfortably in the playoffs.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!

Last year you thought the Jets had the biggest range of good to bad in the league. Does that honor belong to the Blues this year???

No. I don't think the Blues have a shot at being particularly good. The Jets had the absolute best regular season (110 pts, 4th in league) they possibly could have, whereas you could've convinced me they'd wind up around 84 pts if things went wrong. The Blues best possible season as currently constructed is probably like...97 points. Their floor is probably around 81.

That's just awful.

Forgot about Belak and the others too
Have there ever been any hockey/football players that have had their brains studied after death that didn't have CTE? I don't mean this to be flippant, quite the opposite. Meanwhile Bettman and the NHL deny there is a proven link between concussions and CTE. I know it's just for legal purposes, but it's still absolutely gross.

I'd throw in the wwf/wcw/whateverthefuckelse as well.

Chris Benoit's ending is pretty fucked too
Now now, the Canadian Government has apologized for Bryan Adams on SEVERAL occasions!

Between his buy-out money, and Social Security, he's probably working for free.

I think part of you was still intrigued by it though. I remember you were interested last year in him. I would be too, but not with the overload of shit we got right now on D. Army really does value those bargain buy vets with proven experience. But this really doesn't make sense. Army must have a bomb shelter at his house, stocked with canned goods, bottled water, etc. The man prepares for the worst to say the least.

I am not really intrigued by him. He's been bought out twice without being an absolute anchor out there. When he's on the ice he does fine...and 2 different teams would rather pay him to play for someone else. I shudder at the thought of him sharing a locker room with Kyrou. Hopefully they're at opposite corners because he's the last guy I want helping Kyrou figure out how to be a pro (even though Kyrou is already 26 years old).

Well you know, they could have issues on D. Maybe Joseph ain't got it. Maybe Perunovich gets hurt again. Or other guys get hurt.
I can't believe the rumor of him being a cancer in the locker room. Talk is cheap. People started that shit on Tarasenko and he just got himself a 2nd Cup. It's hockey, you fuckn go play hockey. This locker room camaraderie is bull shit. The Blues were rumored to have a cancer of a locker room the year they won the Cup. You play hockey. You win, you look good. You lose, you look bad. It's simple.

Don't have to take my word for it, how about a former teammate?

Regarding just winning, Suter has been around for almost 20 years and has only made it past the second round twice. Just keep him in a corner and roll him out at gametime.

Sounds like he was arrogant. I get it. But at this stage of his career I would think he'd cool it by now - ha
