Crosby missed an open net on his backhand. I think the score was still zeros in the 1st period when it happened. When I saw the replay from the shooter's angle, my jaw dropped. Kid has crappy luck against the Blues.

It's interesting to me to hear the differences of opinion on Michalek. I guess it's perspective...I played defense myself (not very well), so when I look at a defenseman I basically judge him on how he performs under pressure in his own zone. Is he calm, how is his positioning, his stick work, does he treat the puck like a hand grenade and try to get rid of it too fast, etc. By those accounts I think Michalek looks great. I think other folks might look the more highlight reel type stuff...his offensive skills, his slap shot from the point, whether or not he makes huge bone-crunching hits, etc. and if that's what you are looking for out of Michalek you're probably going to be disappointed. But I personally think it was a huge pickup at the deadline and think he is currently our 4th best D-man behind Petro, JBo, and Shatty.
