Hope he's picking up the bill at the team dinners so he's useful to this organization.

I'd offer him to a team and retain 50% of his salary if someone will take it.
By the sounds of things yesterday, I don't think there'd be any takers unless Army sweetened the pot. Not sure whether or not he'd be willing to add draft picks to dump him. Feels like he's a throw in during a bigger summer deal at this point.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!

Well he'll look a lot more attractive to other teams at the league minimum than he will at $4.5 million. Given that he could've ground it out in the minors for the rest of this year and next and continued to collect bigger paychecks, good for him for presumably trying to win another Cup. Either that or charter flights and 5 star hotels are worth about $4 million to him.

Poor timing for him. I think he would have been considered as a call up.
I gotta believe that if Steen liked him, he’d have hung around. Talented guy, but must have played an undisciplined game that didn’t translate to NHL hockey. We’ll have to see if he shows up on our side of the pond again

Maybe he started losing time to Stenberg. Either way I don't think it's much of a blow to the organization that a 25 year old undrafted AHLer decided to go back home to Sweden.

Yeah, I doubt Blues fans are lamenting the loss for the organization. Just potentially bad timing on his part.

I wanted to see Sylvegard up with the big club. He wasn't a soft Swede, he played with an edge and was willing to drop the gloves. Guess he felt he was wasting his time here and went back home. Can't blame him. Army loves scooping up bargain basement vets, the room just gets too crowded.

Any thoughts on where they might go and for what?
I'd be surprised if Faulk produced any return. He might be one you have to pay something to make go away, particularly if they don't want to eat any of his contract. Suter is a lot easier to trade. He wouldn't generate a big return, but I'm sure you could get something for a cheap, experienced D that can play all phases of the game. I'd imagine you could get a late round pick at the deadline if nothing else. He's been much better than I thought he'd be, but I'd take whatever I could get given that he's not part of the future here.

Two more seasons at $6.5M for Faulk is gonna really tough to move. Armstrong would have to pull a real rabbit out of his hat to move that without us taking a beating on it.

Suter will definitely be easy to move. He's cheap insurance for a playoff hopeful.

I wouldn't doubt there are teams calling about Fowler too but he seems pretty happy here.

I think Faulk still has value around the league. Especially if the Blues are open to retaining some of the contract. Like 20-25% of it. I think a team would be willing to add Faulk for 5 million and feel they can get more out of him and also not need him as much in high leverage spots like the Blues.

On the one hand it's frustrating because we've been saying that for at least 2 years. On the other, I think they're almost there in terms of trimming the fat. Krug may or may not have played his last NHL game, it seems as though Faulk is squarely on the trade block, and I have a hunch Leddy's mystery ailment won't clear up until he's part of another organization. Things look a bit rosier with Broberg in the fold, and it's nice having a variety of D prospects for the first time in ages. While some part of the overhaul will come from within, I'm not sure any of the prospects are going to be on the roster next fall.

Bringing in guys like Fowler get us no closer to where we need to be or overhauling the defense. The fat is basically everyone outside of Parayko, Broberg, and I guess Tucker.
