According to Bernie, you can drag the puck in behind you as long as you have control of it, which he did.... I don't think that that's always been the case.

The bogus high-stick call looms large.... was it the reason that they lost? No, but it came at a inopportune time for the Blues. Tucker just lifted a stick, and the guy conked himself...Sunny gets whacked on his noggin all the time, for real, and can't get that call. Holloway got cross-checked hard into the boards, no call...2 zebras = 2X the incompetence.

It seems to me that that has always been a "grey area". I seem to remember that the puck carrier can drag it across IF, and only IF, he not only has FULL control of the puck, but ALSO carries it in a continuous, fluid, single motion started before his 2nd skate fully crossed The Blueline (e.g. he cannot make a jerky slow-down and then speed up again, looking like 2 separate motions, as in some deking moves by shooters driving on net). So, there is a judgement involved as to whether or not it is onside or offside, when the puck is dragged across the line from behind, related to control or lack of control of the puck, and single or multiple motions.

Also, how does a player like Justin Faulk play his way down to the third pairing?
By being a shadow of his former self, probably due to nagging ailments causing pain and restricting his range of movements.

He's only 32 and we've got two more seasons of it.
