This is stupid. And so minor.

If you read the replies they list a bunch of incidents where the exact same thing happened with no penalties.
Any company is free to hire him. I would think if he wasn't using it for financial gain, leaking insider info to a non-coworker for their personal employment gain is frowned upon.

This literally affected no one at any sort of financial level and yet every team in the NHL were breaking the free agency tampering rules at the same time in which over a billion dollars in contracts were handed out.

He's probably learned his lesson and someone will hire him soon.

Yeah definitely shouldn’t be career ending. I’m sure he’ll land somewhere soon, he seems well liked.

Didn't Chris Pronger step down as captain in favor of Al MacInnis while still on the Blues?

Brett Hull had the captaincy stripped from him (IIRC) by Keenan, given to Shayne Corson, and then to Wayne Gretzky while all three of them were on the team together.

I believe the Pronger situation was when he was having the broken arm issues and so they gave it to Al temporarily.

He's got his name on the Cup and a ring.

I'd say that's been a pretty good gig for him.
Didn't say it was a bad one, just a weird one.

Went from being a key piece in the Blues playoff run, to the centerpiece of the Buch trade, to not scoring a single goal for the Rangers, to scoring immediately in his return to St Louis and looking like his old self to earn another contract, to going back to his Rangers form, to getting an AHL contract.

Insurance. It's hard to have too many NHL-level defensemen, especially with so many question marks already.
That and his wisdom/veteran presence will do wonders for the kids
Now now, the Canadian Government has apologized for Bryan Adams on SEVERAL occasions!

Prior to the offer sheets, I found this offseason to be appropriately boring. Unless there was some trade out there to clean out a D contract, punting on any bigger acquisitions seemed reasonable considering the roster's current development cycle. The offer sheets are a good short term bet. They should make the team more competitive, but if not, 2 years worth of commitment when you've got cap space to burn won't kill you.

As for Suter, I wonder if Army would've made that signing if he'd have known he'd end up with Broberg. Either way it's similarly low risk.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!

True, go try and find another player as a comparison. Be hard to do.

I still like the Suter signing. I think he's still good and with both him and Broberg, the D shapes up nicely. But if Krug does an about face and ends up playing this year then that's one big ass mess.
