We all expected a canon of a player and we ended up with a thud. I wish him well and hope he bounces back strong but you have to wonder if he's going to be our Hossa now if what he has ends up being chronic.
All of that is fair until the Hossa part. Hossa was never anything less than excellent throughout his time with the Hawks. As soon as he retired they dropped 6 places in the divisional standings. Both he and the Hawks knew he was going to retire at the exact moment he did from the time the contract was signed as his salary dropped to only $1M/year at that point. The fact that he was able to cite "itchiness" as a reason to do so and still collect his remaining paychecks was a bonus.
I was just making a reference about the LTIR part. Could be anyone for that matter that ended his career on LTIR, that's all I was trying to point out.
Don't kill me on details dude

Leddy Parayko
Perun -Faulk
Suter/Tucker - Joseph/Kessel

??

Not going to lie, that looks awful haha
As it currently stands, I wonder if they go with a 7 man to start:

Parayko-Leddy
Suter-Faulk
Perun/Joseph-Kessel

If they keep it with 6 (which is probably likely) they just rotate that 3rd LD by matchup. I also wonder if Faulk finds himself on another team's roster in October, and Kessel gets bumped up to the second pair. He did fairly well with larger minutes by the end of the year last year.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!

So ferrario and rutherford were talking on the last minute blues podcast about the D pairing and stated Suter and Kessel may be the 3rd pairing and a "shut down line" with perun and tucker playing off/on with faulk so then you have a veteran presence with the younger guys and perun plays alot like krug as it is.

But then also stated Suter and Faulk played on a line together in...what was it...the all star or olympics or international or ..

Food for thought/slow time for the blues
Now now, the Canadian Government has apologized for Bryan Adams on SEVERAL occasions!

I think the Blues had a good indication Krug wasn't going to be available and signed Suter. There could be a lot of experimentation on defense until we find some line combinations that gel.

You scared the shit outta me,in no way should Neighbors be on anyone's lips involving a trade. Just my opinion, so I know it doesn't mean much.

1 yes.

Interesting poll here
You could make a legit case that the Blues would be giving up less than the Panthers did at the time of the trade and since then he's led them to back to back Cup Finals, winning one.

I love Neighbours but you have to wonder what he really is. He ranked 16th in the league in shooting % last year. Is that sustainable for him? If so, then that's great and he'll be a perennial 30 goal scorer. If not, he's likely a high teens -20 goals a season guy, who doesn't create offense for his linemates. Pat Maroon also had a 27 goal season in his career.
Just a Russian propaganda account

My answer would be no.

We have too many holes to seriously challenge for the Cup now and having Tkachuk means you're playing to win right now. That just isn't going to happen as much as I'd like to have the guy.

I'd consider a package for Brady though. He's two years younger and isn't quite the player Matthew is but he'd be a great fit.

He played with McDavid. Not exactly apples to apples here.

1. You have to say Yes.

You’d have to throw Bolduc in the equation to make that a hard decision.

If you threw Bolduc in I would gamble and say No. I think Neighbors has what it takes. His jump in productivity last year was a clear indicator of the level of compete he has a player. He’s driven to succeed. That’s enough for me.

Wonder what Robb K thinks. Me personally, i do think it may be a tad much for him, however We'd lose abour 10 goals a season for but also 20 against so net gain would be worth it

Fun off season chatter

A big nope for me… as bad as I’d like to move Kyrou for someone similar, Tkachuk landed himself on a big physical team… which the Blues are not…. everyone would expect the same results from him here, it wouldn’t happen here… he’s always had some bad-asses around him to cover him… the Blues don’t even have any.

I'd say it's too much to give up. I like the way Neighbours played last season. I don't think it was a fluke. I also think he'll learn how to better set up his linemates with more playing time together. I agree that with The Blues' current defensive crew, it is too soon to trade a large bundle for a big-ticket guy like Matthew Tkachuck (although I 'd love to see him on The Blues). First, The Blues need to get their defensive corps straightened out (with some young high-level prospects, and at least one relatively young star). I do like the youth they've got on the forward side.
