Yeah, you really wonder if the Leaf brass were thinking that when they made the decision. And most importantly will their roster be armed and ready for a Cup run next year? Berube’s best fastball will be his first year. After that, the heater will lose some sizzle each year.
That's true. Its a four year contract but only one of them will be worthwhile.

Both away teams win game one, with edm needing double OT.

I *hope* EDM wins it for connor mcjesus, but i dont see them, or fla for that matter, besting the team they are facing.

NY is stacked and DAL is a tough tough team. EDM doesn't have the goalie and FLA just doesn't "do it" for me (but I am rooting for them over NYR)

See i saw shoulder to shoulder. The ranger was lowered from doin some dangles but i saw no mal-intent, lead with the shoulder hit where the shoulder should've been but ranger went low

Guy next to me at the bar, rooting for the rangers, said it was a clean hit...

I see both point of views but I kind of agree in that the goal of the NHL is supposed to be about player safety and to deter head shots. Giving 2 minute penalties or no penalty doesn’t help any.

Now THAT was an elbow to the head

BUT it was their captain jacob trouba so it was just elbowing and interference.

I explained to my friend, it's only "player safety" when it's a less-skilled player hitting a skilled player. If it's a skilled player hitting a lesser-skilled player....they don't care

Unless it's tom wilson, then it's a penalty regardless :eyeroll:
