That Scandella chance came from Kyrou knocking his man off the puck for a steal, then a quick pass to Thomas for a 2nd quick, crisp pass to the streaking Scandella, jumping into the play. Nice to see Kyrou helping out his team when he doesn't have the puck.

Good, energetic road game by The Blues they could have been 3-4 goals ahead. Let's keep it up in The 3rd, and win it going away! Nice to see Kapanen, Bortuzzo, Scandella and several others helping out. This is a total team effort we haven't seen much so far this season.

Power play still needs a lot of work.

Pretty much sloppy play on that Power Play, although they had one short, good run, with 2 SOG. Perunovich didn't look very comfortable or confident on it. He'll need a decent amount of time playing on the same unit for that to happen.

The Blues played a lot better tonight than over the last couple games. Starting Bortuzzo and going with 7 D-men was the right move. They played with energy and spirit (other than Hayes, skating at half speed. He's too old and slow to play full-out all season long, and so, is on cruise control until the playoff stretch. Probably a wasted signing. We'll find out if he comes out to play full-bore later in the season when the chips are down.

Vrana was benched for unspirited play. I hope he's not having concentration problems because his personal problems have returned. Maybe he'll try harder after seeing how his usual fellow partner-in-crime (slacker) Kapanen, worked hard tonight and scored and helped his team win. It's a shame. Vrana has the skills to be a difference-making regular 30+ goal scorer.

I'd forgotten about that non-shutout shutout he had. Great game for the kid, and really had to earn it at the end. The flames had a few great chances in the final minute. Hopefully the first of many.
