Re: 2021 Traverse City Prospects Tournament (Sept. 16-20)

I would swear I posted my thoughts on both games last night! The gremlins have erased my post again!
Here are my observations:
The Blues' prospects that played have played well for the most part.
Ellis looked very sharp. He looked a LOT better than Hofer. I have higher hopes that he'll be The Blues' backup than Husso, within the next couple years.

Washkurak looked very good. He's solid in a lot of different areas. I hope he'll be a super 4th liner in The NHL, who can also fill in on The 3rd line when needed. Tucker also looked very solid. Great to see he has improved his skating to average for a big man. He played physically, but also made some good defensive plays and good passes.

Perunovich looked good, but made a few bad passes, playing nonchalantly, rather than being reasonably careful. But, he's got some nifty moves to get around players, and good instinct about where they are going to go. I'd still like to see him work on his speed for distance, to get back into plays if he gets trapped. He needs to get a lot stronger, too. But, he's got a nice, sneaky quickly-released shot, and can hit the corners, and great offensive awareness. I think he's got an absolute floor of being an NHL Power Play QB specialist, and maybe can also play regularly in a 2nd pairing role.

Neighbours played better in Game 2 than he did against The Leafs. He's got a lot of the tools. I hope he can become an NHL power forward. The whole Blues' team played chippy tonight. That helped them dominate the game. Alexandrov was a bit disappointing in both games. Luce. Dickenson, Laferriere, McGing, even invitee Guy impressed some. I wonder if The Blues will sign him?

Overall, it seems that The Blues' prospect pool is a little better than I had thought. And Bolduc(injured), and a few others of the higher draft choices weren't playing.

50 shades of Dakota Joshua.

Man. If Perunovich can play any sort of defense at all we've got a real stud.
