Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote: Thu Jul 29, 2021 9:11 pm Rangers are done being pushed around. Hi Tom Wilson

Loved Reaves but that's hilarious. He literally will have zero impact on the Rangers on ice and won't scare Wilson. Teams don't need protection from bullies they need to find more physically aggressive players that can skate and hit.
When is the last time a team had as many suspensions during a playoff run as our 2019 Blues? We had no enforcer but Maroon, Barby, Sunny, Blais, Schenn would run through the opposition.
Tom Wilson single handedly ruined the Rangers franchise and they had absolutely no answer for it. He took a guys head off and then his team beat up the entire Rangers team. It was one of the most embarrassing moments for a hockey team. Not sure where you’re getting Reaves and can’t skate or hit from.
Reaves is a 13th forward at this point. If the Rangers want to get grittier adding Reaves is well a lot like putting a bandaid on a gaping head wound. Hell they just shipped off their most physical forward that can actually play big minutes to us.
What I’m saying is that this isn’t the nhl where an enforcer has the kind of impact they did in the old days. Reaves will not do anything to counter Wilson. Reaves did nothing to counter him while Reaver was a Pen.

The Rangers want to avoid getting pushed around, then get guys who can play big minutes that actually do the pushing. Right now the Rangers are the hunted, they added a deterrent but what they need to be doing is adding guys that allow them to go on the hunt.

Name a guy available that is going to play big minutes and can push Tom Wilson around?

He'll one punch drop his ass again the first regular season game they play.

He’s not going to deter Tom Wilson but what Reaves does, is make every player in that locker room feel a little bit bigger when he’s in the lineup. That Rangers team definitely needed some balls. Adding Reaves along with Goodrow and Blais they get a little sandpaper which is much needed for them. Remember when the Wilson incident happened...they got called out by a ton of former Rangers including Messier...that didn’t go over well with management...pretty embarrassing. Drury’s job is to make them a more complete team...tougher to play against and he’s improved in that area.

They definitely needed to get tougher, but if I were a Ranger fan I'd be worried they went too far the other way. The Buchenevich trade would really frustrate me. There's definitely a plan, but boy if the skilled young kids they have in the lineup don't deliver on their potential over the next couple years it might get ugly.

Adding Goodrow and Blais helps them for sure. Reaves meh, but I guess you could argue they need his big brother presence right now.

I think they're gonna be pretty disappointed with Sammy..... sure he has a lot of collisions, but he usually needs the tow-truck when they're over.

I think Reaves will be a big hit in NY, no pun intended. I think they're going to love him. Wish Army scooped him up and brought him back. Damn

Sammy and a 2nd rounder for Buchnevich had me doing backflips. Won't miss him at all.

I guess if you're 24M in debt and go on vacation while your wife sits at home pregnant with a one year old and the bank seizes the house she may be a little pissed off.

Hawks goaltending officially isn't a disaster:

It would've been pretty funny if the Hawks traded for a goalie that refused to play for them (even if they got him for free). Not super surprised at the outcome here. Bowman surely does his homework on situations like this, just not when his coaches get accused of sexually assaulting his players.
