Re: NHL Draft GDT

Takeaways: Stenberg was clearly a guy they targeted and wasn't some panic pick because another guy got snagged before them. I think if the Blues had some how ended up with the #2 pick they were going to talk themselves out of Fantilli, like the Ducks did and probably would've gone Carlsson. Nice to...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

I'm curious of how may people on this board, will understand that reference. I get it, I'm a Broncos fan. That terrible garbage of a team is in my division. "Just win, Baby" doesn't seem to apply here. Just implying it was a terrible move? Ownership meddling? Ever since john elway has bee...

Go get em gang! https://twitter.com/FriedgeHNIC/status/1686153119950868480?t=kvQB552zEBqU7oGgu7uFJw&s=19 If I can't be one of those "so called" Consultants, then I'm not interested. Giving out my opinions on what the Blues need to do and having lunch with Hitch, now that's a job!! 8-)

Re: News and Games around the NHL

There’s a lot of blame to go around, mostly on the Blues management end. Maybe... but I highly doubt the Blues would purposefully botch a shoulder surgery on their best scorer. Medical issues are not always cut and dry. And when you invest millions in a player, I could see why a team would want to ...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

It's certainly possible. Most didn't even have them as a playoff team last year. I think they'll be fine. Tampa is getting another year older and I don't know what to think about Toronto. I don't think they're going to set records next year, but I think they'll still have enough to finish in the to...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

Aho signs 8-year, $78 million contract with Hurricanes Forward gets $9.75 million annually for deal that begins next season The Hurricanes also signed UFA defensemen Tony DeAngelo (one year, $1.675 million) and Dmitry Orlov (two years, $15.5 million), and forwards Michael Bunting (three years, $13.5...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

They could have exposed him if they wanted. He had a no trade clause, not a no move clause, at least thats what i recall. He'd just finished an injury shortened season in which he ran one of the league's best PPs when healthy. He was good the next year too, and he and Faulk were the team's best pai...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

https://www.nhl.com/predators/roster On paper, they don't look intimidating at all Looking at our forwards shouldn't put the fear of Jesus in anybody either. I don't think we are world-beaters either. But I do believe we will have more points at the end of the season than Nashville. (Even if it's o...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

Added ROR and Nyqvist. What did the Blues do to make up those 11 points? Not saying the Blues can’t finish ahead of them was just commenting that I’m unsure how it can just be the expected outcome when the Blues weren’t close to them last year. You could say ROR is done and it's addition by subtrac...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

Nashville had 11 more points than the Blues last year and in my opinion got even better this off-season so I wouldn't take it for granted that the Blues are better than them. Unsure on the Jets as they may still move Hellebyuck. Definitely better than Chicago and Arizona though. If not, we've got m...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

This team should be better than Chicago, Arizona, Nashville, and Winnipeg in the Central. I also think they are better than Calgary, Anaheim, Vancouver, and San Jose out west. So, that should leave them in a Wild Card spot. In the Central, I just don't understand Minnesota. I keep waiting for them ...

So headline on Dubois today reads........................ Dubois excited for opportunity to 'fully be me' with Kings I'd like to know who he was before................... He's had a little Buffalo Berglund mixed in so far. Yeah, head case for sure. Kings might regret this down the line. Was t...

Has anyone seen updated the NHL Team Rankings on prospect pools? I see Scott Wheeler had the Blues ranked 19th back in January/2023 earlier this year. Gotta think we crack the top 10 now. https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/ranking-nhls-best-and-worst-prospect-pools-teams-17-32-193616413.html https://...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

welp... Blues Not Currently Built to Compete for 2023-24 If you’d run a poll a month ago, the vast majority of St. Louis Blues fans would have expected general manager Doug Armstrong to have a very busy offseason. After all, he had armed himself with three first-round picks after a busy trade deadl...
