Look how modest the defending Champ is!!
Let’s see if you can repeat Matty!!!!!

Re: Blues 2024 Offseason Thread:

So after hearing a podcast discussing these edmonton guys, im a little more excited to see them. The defensemen is tall and big and can skate like j-bo and was used on the wrong side forcing him to be more aggressive instead of the j-bo esq style of skating it outta harms way The forward is able to...

Re: Blues 2024 Offseason Thread:

1. You have to say Yes. You’d have to throw Bolduc in the equation to make that a hard decision. If you threw Bolduc in I would gamble and say No. I think Neighbors has what it takes. His jump in productivity last year was a clear indicator of the level of compete he has a player. He’s driven to suc...

Re: Blues 2024 Offseason Thread:

1 no. 1 yes. Interesting poll here You could make a legit case that the Blues would be giving up less than the Panthers did at the time of the trade and since then he's led them to back to back Cup Finals, winning one. I love Neighbours but you have to wonder what he really is. He ranked 16th in th...

Re: Blues 2024 Offseason Thread:

Blues get a B+ for offseason moves Key players added: F Radek Faksa, D Pierre-Olivier Joseph, F Mathieu Joseph, F Alexandre Texier, D Ryan Suter Key players lost: F Kevin Hayes Remaining cap space: $7.25 million Coach status: Drew Bannister was an in-season replacement who is entering his first ful...

Re: Blues 2024 Offseason Thread:

In theory it’s low risk, at least financially but he’s now been bought out by the last two teams that signed him. Also, feel like this team should already have enough veteran presence for the young guys to learn from. Unless they need to learn to be kind of a dickhead. Feels like he’ll just be Scan...

Re: Blues 2024 Offseason Thread:

Do we think the Blues are better today than when they ended the season? About the same? Worse? Out: Kevin Hayes, Blais, Vrana, Scandella, Rosen In: Joseph bros and Faksa I'll say as a whole they improved maybe 5%. That's based primarily on the assumption that the new guys improve the mediocre PK, a...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

I’m not totally up on the Wings roster but I get the impression that they don’t have much in young talent right now given they keep patching the team up with veteran signings. Their drafting lately must really suck. They should be loaded by now and that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Re: Blues 2024 Offseason Thread:

You guys will destroy your minds if you play that game for too long. I don’t think Tim has fully recovered from Brad Marchand going in the third round, we took Jonas Junland right before him. We also took Thomas Kana before Lucic that same draft. That was the EJ draft. One of the all time what coul...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

I have some truly heartbreaking news to pass along. Please respect my privacy during these times. https://twitter.com/DetroitRedWings/status/1808606924138492124 Fuck Yzerman and Fuck the Wings. Somehow Yzerman still finds a way to piss me off. He'll deal him at the deadline for a 1st + since that's...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

Looking at a list of the signings yesterday, I got to say outside the Kapanen signing the Chandler Stephenson one has to be the worst. Seven years for a 30 year old who has had 16 goals each of the last two season seems awful to me. I mean he is a solid player and all but wow. I think Monahan’s is ...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

I'm not saying I'd do it or I agree with it, but given that he'll probably be pretty cheap Suter seems very much like an Army type of signing. https://twitter.com/DallasStars/status/1806719260640543084 Didn't he get bought out by the wild too? Man... Idk if I'd want him... With the mess he created ...

Re: 2024 NHL Draft Thread

Hopefully this draft produces an NHL regular or two out of it. I don't see a lot of true upside in them though. No top 6 forwards, no top pairing d-man. It seems like a few of them had down draft years and their development stalled out which is worrisome. Sometimes happens with these tall players b...

Re: Blues trade Kevin Hayes to Pens

2025 2nd rounder. I would consider that trade was a fail on Armstrong's part. There must be something up his sleeve cap wise to do this. Blues currently aren’t a contender yet so what was the rush in giving up 2nd rounder to unload him? Might as well live with it as this team continues to transitio...

If it's rated on size alone, the Blues will come out near the top!
Bob Mackenzie had him ranked at 60 and Blues got Jecho at 95. Blues draft looking up, no pun intended

Re: Blues trade Kevin Hayes to Pens

Paid a second to make Hayes go away. But not to move up in the draft. Army has gotten really bad at roster building the last couple years. Keeps making bad trades/signings and then has to pay the price to fix his own errors. https://twitter.com/jprutherford/status/1807088780589089276 Army self dest...
