I hear people say this a lot. What's the basis of this argument? Seems like a the talent pool is deeper now than ever.
Agreed. On most nights it seems like 16-17 of the guys on the ice for each team actually belong in the NHL.

Re: Bashing Blues Talk Forum

Larueskee's threads are actually still worth the occasional lurk. He started one recently about an apparent conspiracy theory he has based on Army always having the sniffles. Larueskee has to be trolling, right? His posts have become way over the top in the last few months. I find them absolutely h...

Re: Brodeur Coming Back

To the Blues as opposed to leaving, most likely, per JR. https://twitter.com/jprutherford/status/597968191025913856 As long as these former players come back and do something substantial to help the team win I'm all for it. If they want to sit up in the luxury boxes and be a "special advisor&q...

Re: Hockey in Vegas

Meanwhile, I read that the Coyotes have already reached the $50 million in losses "out clause" that was part of the agreement. What has it been only two years since that agreement was reached and they've already reached their minimum loss level... It was supposed to be a 5 years or ...

Re: Brian Elliott

He's a guy that I would love to have back next year as a backup that can potentially take over if the starter goes down or struggles (especially for just $2.5 million).

Re: Maroon

Me, too. Hey Anton, who'd you play for? Grew up playing for Kirkwood and then played for Parkway South. How about yourself? Played youth hockey at Chesterfield, then played at SLUH for high school. We've probably played each other in high school. I'm sure we did. I knew some pretty good SLUH ...

Re: Cheating in sports

Growing up playing hockey I know players cut holes in their gloves so they could grab a players helmet cage, when scrumming it up. That wouldn't work in the NHL though. I'm sure in the NHL players are taking roids, HGH or stimulants. I'm pretty sure the drug testing policy in the NHL is a joke. Gui...

Re: Vent as needed

My heart just hurts. I get so emotionally invested and buy into this team every single year and it always just ends in disappointment. I'll be a Blues fan until the day I die, but man, this is rough.

Re: No Lehtera tonight?

Hitch says he is 50/50 for tonight, but he's leaning towards him playing. Timmerman article on pd site. Hitch's quote made me laugh. I'm glad math isn't a necessary skill for hockey coaches. If you're leaning towards playing him then he's not 50/50! Regardless, hopefully he can play tonight but if ...

Re: Duuuub

I thought it was entertaining to hear the "Duuuub" chant get quieter and quieter for every save as the game went on. The last save he made before getting pulled there were maybe a couple hundred people yelling "Duuuub." [/b] They were talking about going outside and burning one....

Re: Berglund

Berglund has been pretty good the last month or so. It's like he forgets he's 6'4 sometimes, but when he remembers, watch out--that's his puck.

Re: So what do you do with Elliott now?

If I were GM, I certainly keep him around next season at the very least. We have to remember that Allen has not yet started even half a season at the top level and will likely run into some cold streaks (as most young goalies do). Depending on how Binnington progresses next year, maybe look at movin...

Re: The Calgary Flames

Yeah, I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Russell and Wideman (both former Blues). If we get kicked, God forbid, I'll probably pull for Calgary to go all the way.

I love underdog stories.
Say it ain't so, Battra! Not the Hawks!
