Insurance. It's hard to have too many NHL-level defensemen, especially with so many question marks already.

I think a lot of the difference in the Blues drafting this year as opposed to last year are two-fold:

-we had 3 first round picks last year, and only 1 this year

and

-the draft itself wasn't as deep and didn't have as much high-end talent in general.
