Re: For the love of god, trade Ott.

I think the league is outgrowing the need for an energy line. Right now it's more like a team needs an energy "guy". I'd like to see more scoring talent on the 4th line. I would say that this is correct. There is a place for guys like Brodziak and Upshall, but I'm not sure Ott (and to a l...

Re: Lineup changes for tomorrow

I think right now they need to evaluate how ALL of the players do in NHL game situations. I expect a lot of flexibility over the first couple of weeks. Yup. It's early. Gotta get everybody some playing time and see where things stand. It's especially true with Bortuzzo since he was injured for part...

Re: Final Roster Cuts

Pretty surprising that Sergeev, Parayko and Edmundson all supplanted Lindbohm. The Blues defense is going to be pretty stout for the next 15 years. Sergeev has been injured for pretty much all of training camp and is headed back to the OHL this year. Not sure why he is still listed on the Blues sit...

Final Roster Cuts

Edmundson and Parayko stay with the Blues
Rattie and Lindbohm go back to the Wolves (along with Butler and Paajarvi)

With Berglund still out that puts us at 13 forwards, 7 defense, and 2 goalies.

Room for one more. So... Gomez?

Re: Brian Bickell on waivers

It just boggles my mind they traded Saad for Dano, because of cap issues with Bickell's dumb contract, and they're sending Dano down so they can play Kyle Baun. Kyle Baun was in the Wings development camp for two years and didn't turn enough heads for a contract, and now he's taking Brandon Saad's ...

Re: Brian Bickell on waivers

and they send Dano down, who was the main piece in that trade wasn't he? Just a formality. From what I understand, the end game of this is to send Bickell down and re-promote Dano, which will essentially add $25K ($3.1M from Bickell and $925K from Dano) to their cap hit. Bickell's contract would be...

Re: GDT: Blackhawks @ Blues, 700p CT

Rattie looks faster this year than I remember from him. That's a good sign. I'd imagine they were putting him with a guy like Ott to see how effective he can be in more of a grinder role. He's obviously an offensive minded player but Top 6 minutes are just not happening right now with our depth. Eve...

Re: JR on Fabbri

If Hitch and the staff thinks Fabbri is NHL ready, that's good enough for me. Man I'm super pumped and intrigued to see him play now, I figured he would get a 9 game trial and then be sent back to Juniors but apparently he's NHL ready now. *edit btw I have no idea why my font color is blue? When si...

Re: Who gets the A's?

During the split games vs Columbus, the regulars (Steen and Petro) wore the A's in St. Louis and Shattenkirk, Brouwer, and Brodziak wore A's in Columbus (three A's since there was no C in that game). I don't know if Brouwer and Brodziak are very likely for the regular season, but it seems like Shatt...

Re: KANE is in trouble.

When the DNA results below her waist showed two other DNA samples not belonging to Kane but to two other guys, the Mother stepped in and tampered with the case. That's how I'm reading it. I haven't been keeping up with every aspect of this story but this is the first I've heard of this. Are these D...

Re: DGB Cup Odds

And Edmonton has won more playoff games since 2002 largely because of the Chris Pronger trade. That's basically salt poured all over our sucky wound.

Re: DGB Cup Odds

Maybe the Blues werent bad enough for long enough. See Chicago. Don't see Edmonton. Maybe it's time to trade some older guys for high picks and move up some young guns. This will be an interesting trade deadline year, and then very little will happen..... I think that's part of it for sure. Chicago...

Re: Scottie Upshall

I'd rather have Upshall than Ott, but I can't see the Blues willingly eating Ott's contract this year while he plays for the Wolves. A team would have to be desperate for a cap hit to pick him up off waivers or in a trade at the start of the season.
