It's the Blues SKATERS who have much more of a head problem than Elliot or Allen. Allen played more than well enough to win the series! How many goals did Allen and Elliot give up against the Wild? Only 13. How many did tbe Hawks' Darling and Crawford give up against Nashville? 21!

So if the Blues actually did their job and showed up and SCORE instead of running scared every time the Wild scored they'd be in the 2nd round playing the Hawks!

It's not simply the scoring. It's the lack of forechecking, which led to the lack of puck possession, which led to the lack of open ice, which led to the lack of scoring.

I sincerely wish we had a bunch more western Canadian toughness in our lineup. Chicago has neutralized Minnesota's speed with their checking game. We need to be focused on doing the same. If you play the game the way Chicago does, checking hard and fighting for every loose puck, you don't have to have a good goalie, merely a serviceable one.

Allen gives up a couple of softies in game five...and he is shaking in his boots in game six. Crawford gets pulled in game one and is shutting out the Wild in game three of the second round. Crawford put his problems behind him, something that the Blues players apparently can't do.

Allen's also a rookie, hard to blame him for having jitters. Crawfords first two trips to the playoffs were pretty ugly as well. The Blues skaters are the ones that needed to step the fuck up and play better in front of their goalie.

Hull, Oates, Stevens, Brindamour, Brown, and Joseph. Only Tank and maybe Petro can compare to any of those 6!
Agreed. I watched the CBC feed of the CGY-ANA game last night and they showed two 1990-91 highlights of Oates feeding Hull a couple of assists during the intermission report (both Oates and Darren Pang were on the panel). I didn't know how good we had it at the time. Fond memories.
