3rd place should be the Blues goal. Get Minnesota in the 1st round. We match up good with them. Would rather have a round 1 win under our belts before tangling with Flames and Avs. Have to treat these Blues like babies because that's what they are.

Barring a major collapse in Calgary, the Blues can only meet the Flames in the first round or conference championship. Both of those teams are scary in their own ways. Not sure who I'd rather face at this point assuming Colorado is healed up by then.

Just like '19 ... don't worry about who the opponent is, just play Blues hockey and beat them. This team plays great against top competition, they just shit the bed against teams that won't make the playoffs.

Be something. We’ve seen it before. There’s always post-season surprises. Let’s hope we’re one of them!

As long as the surprise isn't a first round exit.

That would only be a "surprise" to Blues fans whose calendars are stuck on June 2019. You know who you are.

RELEASE THE SIDEBURNS

Last night in Providence, Charlie Lindgren had a 41-save shutout as the Springfield Thunderbirds defeated Providence 1-0 in a key division game. Lindgren is 20-4-2 for the T-Birds this season, 2.27 GAA, .922 save %. Klim Kostin had the goal.

If this team doesn't make a real deep playoff run, Army will probably have a cupboard full of draft pics.

Gord McHelper getting some front page love.

https://www.espn.com/nhl/insider/story/ ... ya-sorokin

Robert Thomas, C, St. Louis Blues
Jordan Kyrou inhaled all the "breakout season" air out of the room in St. Louis, leaving little for a player who not only had a hand in that level-up, but has experienced one of his own.

Thomas, 22, has hovered around the team lead in points all season with a career-best 3.3 points per 60 minutes average through 62 games. He's blossomed into an elite playmaker who's second behind Johnny Gaudreau in primary assists per 60 at 5-on-5 (1.52). He's improving defensively -- his faceoff percentage, previously a liability, peaked at over 50% this season -- but that part of his game might be the only thing keeping him from overtaking Ryan O'Reilly as the Blues' No. 1 center. Well, that and power-play time.

My theory on why Robert Thomas is underappreciated? Because his name is "Robert Thomas."

If his name was Gord McHelper, he'd be up for the Hart Trophy. But seriously, maybe go with "Robbie" or the Matchbox 20-adjacent "Rob" to garner some more buzz.

Thought I'd check in on how Kostin has been doing in the minors. He's got 6 points in 17 games. Probably not what the front office was hoping to see. I wonder if he's played his last game in a Blue Note.

I don't know his contact status, but he could get another shot in training camp, I suppose.
