Sunny is a player that you don't miss when he's hurt, but you notice how good he is when he comes back... that said, his long-term health is an issue considering the surgeries and concussions he's had, and the way he plays the game. I don't see Army going after Giroux unless he's gonna re-sign him to a deal with some term, and a few major pieces will have to be packing their bags this summer for that to happen.... Perron??? Binner???
Neal and Bozak likely won't return, unless they're late-off-season depth signings again.
Ideally, Scandella will be a part of any trade to shore up our Blueline.
Perron's contract will also be up, He'll be 34, but has been a great value so far at $4 mil/yr on his last contract, especially last season. He had 18 points in his first 20 games this season before his injury, but only 4 points in 14 games since he returned (he was out on Covid protocol for a couple of games, too). If he bounces back a bit more, I could see the Blues re-signing him for a year or two if he'll take a bit less than he's making now. OR, they could trade him, and then re-sign him again in the off-season, which they've done, what, like 3 times now already?
In goal, Husso and Lindgren will both be UFAs this summer, It'd be great to be able to keep both of them based on their performances this season, but will we be able to if we're committed to Binnington as well?
You never want to lose a player of his caliber, but if Tarasenko still wants to be part of a different franchise this Summer, his asking for a trade may be a blessing in disguise. He's still a great value at $7.5 mil for what he brings for another year, but, barring injuries or a severe downturn in performance, he should still be worth a TON in trade, hopefully a package that could keep the Blues at an elite-level overall for several more years to come.
