Re: NHL Trade Deadline News and Rumor Thread
101They just acquired Nate Thompson, now they've got the guy who scored a hat trick vs. The Blues.
Depth moves, baybay.
The more games Hutchinson plays for the Avs, the better. I remember when I really thought he was going to be the guy in WPG a few years ago.
You think Thornton does go back to Boston? You think Boston really wants him?
That return is going to be fascinating. CBJ still has their first round picks for the next 3 years, but lacks their seconds for the next 2. If they gave up a first for a guy that is the complete opposite of the type of player your head coach likes...I don't know Jarmo!
Lol. Yeah, Tortorella is gonna have an aneurysm with this guy.Dave's a mess wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2020 10:47 amThat return is going to be fascinating. Good news for Athanasiou is that his -45 this season probably isn't going to get much worse.usmcaaron wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2020 10:48 amLol. HAHAHAHAHA! What in the world?!?! Simmonds seems like a good dude, but how in the world does this make any sense. Maybe they're bringing him in to Bortuzzo Buffalo's version of Sanford.
Since no one was seriously injured, it's nice to add a literal car wreck to all the metaphorical ones that happen on deadline day.usmcaaron wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2020 10:26 am
Damn. Here's why they called the press conference. Not to announce the extension.
So, Lundqvist won't be traded either, it seems.
If I'm Buffalo I'm not trading a 7th for him. It just doesn't make any sense.
Well, he's a terrible GM, so this is the only explanation. They're 8pts out of the playoffs w/ 4 teams to catch. Simmonds is not the kind of player to boost a team that much.NHLTIM wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2020 11:04 am Botterill is trading for Simmonds because he saw that Bergervin was actually able to upgrade a couple of his moves recently. Botterill plans on trading Simmonds for a 2nd round pick before 3pm....
He was the GM that I wanted to be Army's replacement down the road. He was supposed to be the next up and coming great GM, he learned in the Pens organization....I'm at a loss for what happened to him.usmcaaron wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2020 11:09 amWell, he's a terrible GM, so this is the only explanation. I concur, nonsense trade.Dave's a mess wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2020 11:02 amIf I'm Buffalo I'm not trading a 7th for him. It just doesn't make any sense.
Where are you hearing that? That means the Islanders would have to move out some salary. That would be a nice unexpected deal even though Guerin said he wanted to make some noise.
Damn. That's one I would've sworn Minny would be stuck w/ for the duration. 7.5 mil for 5 more yrs
