Maybe the Gunnar injury is more serious than expected and Del Zotto adds better depth instead of a Butler.

Haha. Anytime Del Zotto comes up I think of that whole ordeal he had with the porn star a few years ago and chuckle. Guess now I'll get that laugh regularly!

The Ducks acquired Del Zotto from Vancouver a couple weeks ago for Luke Schenn and a 7th.

It's well worth the risk. He instantly replaces Fabbri on the Blues all-hair team.

I"m guessing Gunnar's health is questionable. Frankly, Bortuzzo hasn't proven exactly durable, either. Both have been VERY solid when they play, but kind of risky going into the playoffs with both of them.

I would have rather kept the the 6th rounder and just let Butler fill that role

Yeah, but if Gunnar's not likely to come back, and Bortz seems to get injured every 10 games or so (I think he's overdue already), we'd have Butler in our top-6, and, if anyone else got injured as the playoffs progressed, then what? Schmaltz?

IMHO, a 6th round pick is probably worth an NHL-level defenseman, even as an 'insurance policy.'

Hottest team in league just got diffused by its own GM. Army is fuckn horrible.
