Yup, that's why on the soccer pitch, players dive because they will get the call. I'm glad only the Preds have adopted this tactic. It's just poor sportsmanship.

Thompson was out there for a second with Schenn/Schwartz, but then after the whistle Jaskin came out with them for the face-off, so I think Thompson just didn’t get off on a change yet.

So nice to see Thompson looking like he belongs out there in his 1st NHL game, on The Stanley Cup Champion's home ice. He's holding his own already in The NHL, and he's just a stringbean. Imagine how much better he'll be when he's 6ft 5in and 22o lb (instead of 180), and after he's a lot stronger (those added 40 lb will be all muscle), and he gets used to his new weight and strength. He should be an excellent power forward with a lot of skill and a scorer's touch. He knows how to put the puck in the net.

Stringbean, yes, but a different kind. Looks like he can still hold his own, whereas Sanford doesn't show that at all.

Adding to Schenn's performance he's won 7 of 10 faceoffs. The rest of the #stlblues have won 12 of 39.

Stastny scores on an awesome passing play from Sobotka and Tarasenko. Plenty of time from the slot and he makes no mistake. 4-2 Blues.
