ST. LOUIS - The Blues will begin a stretch of five preseason games in six days with Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars.
The puck drops from American Airlines Center at 7:30 p.m.
Robby Fabbri will play in his first game since suffering an ACL injury on Feb. 4. The Blues' lineup will also include prospects such as Samuel Blais, Klim Kostin, Robert Thomas, Tage Thompson, Jake Walman and Vince Dunn.
Former Blues Head Coach Ken Hitchcock will be beginning his second stint behind the Stars' bench. Hitchcock previously coached the Stars from 1995-2002.
Play-by-play will be available via KMOX.com and on HD radio on Y98 HD3 in St. Louis. Fans can follow the action at stlouisblues.com, by using the Blues mobile app or by following @StLouisBlues on Twitter.

2This looks like the game to go to if you wanted to see all of our top prospects. Wish it was on TV, I'm really interested to see how Fabbri plays at center.
Will the first pairing or third pairing in this game end up as our third pairing on opening night?

3Stars lines:
Jamie Benn-Tyler Seguin-Alexander Radulov
Mattias Janmark-Jason Spezza-Brett Ritchie
Radek Faksa-Martin Hanzal-Tyler Pitlick
Nick Caamano-Devin Shore-Curtis McKenzie
Marc Methot-John Klingberg
Dan Hamhuis- Greg Pateryn
Esa Lindell-Stephen Johns
Bishop supposed to start, play two periods.
That looks like basically their regular team, so this probably will be a beat down by the Stars.

4Glad the Stars are putting out most of their regulars, including all big forwards. Even though those big guns probably won't be going full bore just yet, it will be nice to see how our younger defensemen handle all that firepower.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!

6Another thing to watch is Samuel Blais playing on RW. Scored 26 AHL goals last year, and has been playing so far in camp with Blues regulars (Stastny and Tarasenko before Steen and Fabbri now). He's a LWer, but you have to wonder that if he shows he can play on RW if he has a chance at that 3rd line RW spot along with Bennett and some of the other guys.
Re: GDT: Blues at Stars, first preseason game, 7:30pm CST
7Hitch will be playing this game like it's game 7 of the SC Finals.
Be curious to see how long he keeps that top line together. 3 shifts?

8Wade Megan, the forgotten guy in all this. I think he scored 32 goals LY not too mention the one he scored in his call up. I'm surprised he resigned with the Blues organization. He isn't going to get a fair shot here.
Re: GDT: Blues at Stars, first preseason game, 7:30pm CST
9Hope everyone is ready to see a lot of special teams time in the preseason. The League is cracking down on slashing and faceoff violations in the preseason. In the games last night there were numerous penalties for improper alignment on faceoffs and starting early. There's been no change in the rules, they're just actually enforcing it. Surely this will not be the case in April, but whatever. The slashing focus may stick a bit more, which will help the speed and skill guys. Here's hoping Hitch keeps the stars stuck playing 1995 hockey all year.

10Is Hitch terrible or does Dallas not have any prospects worth putting out there?

11They drafted Miro Heiskanan #3 overall, not sure where he is.39hurricane wrote:Is Hitch terrible or does Dallas not have any prospects worth putting out there?

12You usually play your regulars in the first preseason home game and then your kids in the first road game. Lets see what the Blues lineup looks like tomorrow night at home.39hurricane wrote:Is Hitch terrible or does Dallas not have any prospects worth putting out there?

13I think he's hurt and decided to skip camp and stay in Finland. I think their last few drafts have been pretty crappy, so there probably aren't a lot of exciting prospects in Dallas. Fine by me.Dread_Pirate_Westley wrote:They drafted Miro Heiskanan #3 overall, not sure where he is.39hurricane wrote:Is Hitch terrible or does Dallas not have any prospects worth putting out there?

14If they offered these games online for $5 a piece, they wouldn't need to bed the city for money to fix their locker room.UMSLBlues12 wrote:This looks like the game to go to if you wanted to see all of our top prospects. Wish it was on TV, I'm really interested to see how Fabbri plays at center.

15Actually just to be accurate, it is the city's locker room. They own it.CaptSMRT wrote:If they offered these games online for $5 a piece, they wouldn't need to bed the city for money to fix their locker room.UMSLBlues12 wrote:This looks like the game to go to if you wanted to see all of our top prospects. Re: GDT: Blues at Stars, first preseason game, 7:30pm CST
16It wouldn't surprise me if there is a live video feed of the game tonight using the cameras inside the arena. You know that type of feed I'm talking about. It shows up from time to time during NHL preseason. If not, oh well, I know NHL network will have the Caps/Blues game on Friday.
Re: GDT: Blues at Stars, first preseason game, 7:30pm CST
17The Blues just announced that the game tomorrow night and the game Saturday will be streaming on Fox Sports Go. So thats good at least. Probably SOL for tonight though.
Re: GDT: Blues at Stars, first preseason game, 7:30pm CST
18Wow! With NHL Network picking up the Friday game, and NBCSN showing the Blues/Pens game next Wednesday, this will be the most televised Blues preseason ever! Very happy!UMSLBlues12 wrote:The Blues just announced that the game tomorrow night and the game Saturday will be streaming on Fox Sports Go. So thats good at least. Probably SOL for tonight though.

21I'm ok with both crackdowns, especially the slashing one. No need to let that stuff go. Just be impressed if they actually stick with it .NHLTIM wrote:You ain't kidding...just saw that faceoff violation called in the Hawks and Jackets game.Dave's a mess wrote:Hope everyone is ready to see a lot of special teams time in the preseason. Re: GDT: Blues at Stars, first preseason game, 7:30pm CST
22Leave it to the NHL to slow the game down even more. Bad enough you've got your paying customers yelling: "Drop the *&^%$#@ puck!" at every faceoff. Now they've gotta suffer through a stoppage to get the offender(s) to the box AND to wait for the referee to figure out how to turn his microphone on to make the announcement.NHLTIM wrote:You ain't kidding...just saw that faceoff violation called in the Hawks and Jackets game.Dave's a mess wrote:Hope everyone is ready to see a lot of special teams time in the preseason. 24I take it there's no stream available (even what they're showing on The Blues' Jumbotron. Can someone send me a link to the radio broadcast? Can I get it on KMOX.com?
Re: GDT: Blues at Stars, first preseason game, 7:30pm CST
25What Robb just asked...kmox and y98 online now playing the game...is it only for those in the STL area? Not seeing anything on the Stars website either...
