NHL.com (9/6/17): Original Blue Noel Picard passes away

Very sad news indeed.
Big Noel was so tough that very few wanted any part of him.

He was One Tough Cookie...R.I.P.

Noel lived in Ft. Collins CO for a while (tending to the Clydesdales associated with the brewery there) and coached the Colorado State University's club team in the late 80's. A buddy of mine played for him...he said that Noel's one piece of advice for when an opposing goalie was shutting the team out was: "Shoot for zee head! Hit him in zee face!"

Sad to hear this. I really liked Noel, seemed like a great guy.

It's so sad when a Blues legend like Noel Picard passes away. Those who were part of the Birth of the Blues were a special group and will live on in our memories. RIP.
