Really looking forward to these games today as this is my favorite hockey of the year. Can't wait to see how Tage Thompson plays today as well as the boys from St. Louis. Hoping that Joseph Woll will get some time in the net for the USA.
On the flip side with Canada...what I wouldn't give to steal Steve Yzerman away from Tampa. Taylor Raddysh, Mitchell Stephens, Anthony Cirelli, and Mathieu Joseph all forwards playing for team Canada...not a single one was a 1st round pick either. Yzerman just knows talent and knows exactly what he wants in a player. You know these will be guys in the future that Tampa puts in their lineup and they will be successful.

Missed the first period, but Thompson looks dynamic based on what I've seen so far. Skating looks very impressive.

Yep I'm really liking Thompson. Another assist on the third US goal and I believe he's been out there for all three, not to mention Thompson not looking like a one trick pony who relies too much on that shot of his.

On a side note, it's weird the Blues didn't get a St. Louis kid in this years draft. Know the top guys were mainly out of reach for the draft spots the Blues held, but namely goalie Woll was passed over for a QMJHL goalie Evan Fitzpatrick in the second round.

The Swiss just won 4-3 on an interception and breakaway 23 seconds into OT! The Czechs, who beat Finland last night, are 1-1. Canada and USA are 1-0. Russia is 0-1.

Lowly Denmark is shocking Finland 3-1 with 14 minutes left in The 3rd.

It sure would be nice if we could steal Strome away from Phoenix. They've got so much young talent coming maybe Army could figure out a way.

Bah, every year I tell myself I'll make more time for the WJC early round games live, and yet here I am missing these two entirely. Glad to hear Tage Thompson is looking good. Everything I've seen from him this fall and winter seems to be trending in the right direction.

Thompson scored a ridiculous goal against a Slovakia tonight. Continually impressed with how well he moves around the ice.

The Danes scored 20 seconds in vs. Switzerland. The Captain, True. Then they scored again around 3 minutes in on a deflection by Blichfeld. It looks like they'll be headed for a 3rd win, and to the 2nd round for the first time. Nickolaj Krag-Kristiansen got an assist. They scored a PP goal a bit later. They now lead 3-1 at the end of The 1st Period.

If they win, I believe they save Finland from going to the relegation round, which would've been pretty crazy to see.

Denmark just scored early in The 2nd (by From), and they lead 4-1.

It's now 4-2 Denmark, after a goal by From, and a breakaway goal by The Swiss, after 10 minutes of he 2nd. The TSN announcers are raving about how good Nickolaj Krag-Kristensen is.

The Danes and Swiss are now in OT as The Swiss tied it up 4-4 in The 3rd.

Denmark's goalie totally standing on his head during that OT. Danes have given up 52 shots! On to the shootout

Switzerland made a great comeback, and beat Denmark in The Shootout.

So, both Denmark and Switzerland have made it to The 2nd Round.

After USA went up 2-0 on PP goals, Canada had a chance to get back in the game with a long 2-man advantage, but USA killed it off! I want Tage Thompson to score and play well. But I have to root for my country's team.

Early in The 2nd, USA's Luke Kunin took a 5-minute major and 10 minute misconduct for a late hit aimed at the head. Canada needs to score and get back into the game.
