In all seriousness though, what's the benefit of it unless you have a case where you have a guy that you don't fully trust at 5 on 5 but can be a specialist i.e Prune? Because with only 11 forwards you are double shifting one of your top forwards.

Probably because your forwards are much healthier. Some d-men are nursing injuries, and wouldn't be playing during the regular season. The wild are hitting those guys hard and heavy, while crying about their precious one getting hit. I'd bet that Prunes is still hurting, but he can play PP minutes where there's not a lot of chance he gets creamed. I like this... more minutes for your best forwards.
