TBH... any time I'm watching a game and there's an alternate feed that doesn't feature the Emmy winner, I choose that one. Nothing personal whatsoever, his voice just grates on my ears worse than nuns at a chalkboard. Obviously I'm not the voting majority, and obviously he knows how to make friends. Mike Emrick is #blessed.

Personally, I really enjoy Emrick calling a game.

I don't mind Mike at all. I remember about 10 years ago or so when he passed on working a Stanley cup final game to be with his wife because one of their dogs passed away. They read a statement from him on the air, where he mentioned "that to him and his wife, their dogs were their children"

Oh I have nothing personal against Doc I'm sure he's a perfectly nice man, but his voice sounds like an animal caught in a trap desperately trying to escape, and his odd verb usage is just baffling.

I cringe when I hear his shrill voice. And I hate the way he calls a game. If I don't watch and just listen to him, I have no idea what's going on. Why can't he just say what's going on, instead of trying to be Shakespeare?
