Is that true? Woof. As an out of towner I'm fortunate not to have that issue. My NHL.tv package auto-renewed in early December, though the email said they didn't have a price yet because they didn't know how many games they'd be playing at the time, haha. I think it ended up coming in at $99 for the season. I'm pretty sure that only works if you're out of market though. I'd check in on the streaming options at a site such as this: http://www.cordcuttersplus.com/live-tv- ... readsheet/

Hopefully one of those has FSMW. Here in Chicago, Cubs fans were freaking out over the summer because the Cubs new Marquee network hadn't cut a deal with Comcast the week the season was going to start. They didn't strike a deal until a day or two before the season started (sidenote everyone hated it once it got got here LOLCubs). Hopefully that's what happens with FSMW, besides the everybody hating it part.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!

I believe Hulu Live might be the only one currently streaming FSMW, there's runs about 60 a month. Apparently the owners of Fox Sports regional broadcast plan to release a subscription service independently to people, but no clue when that will go live. Not an ideal situation at all.

The website I use to stream some sports games is https://sportsurge.net/#/groups/0

It's less than ideal in that you get some pop-ups and it freezes from time to time but picture quality is good and it's better than nothing.

I have ATT TV now and it has FSMW. I’m grandfathered in from Directvnow .
If you just want to watch hockey ...NHL center ice package and install a VPN service and you can watch Blues games that way. You should be able to find a VPN service for like $5 per month.
NHL66.ir was a great website for streaming all hockey but it looks like it’s been shutdown at this point. It would be nice to see it back. It just worked...games were HD quality and no annoying popups

Yeah, I had Hulu Live, but they dropped FSMW, then a couple of weeks later raised their prices. I really liked their service, but that double kick in the ass was too much, so I cut them down to the basic package. Thanks for the info. May have to give that Sportsurge site a try.

ATT is a little rich for my retired budget, but maybe the Nhl Center Ice and VPN will work. A place to start for sure. Or maybe I just need to start following chess tournaments. 😃😃

yeah, we’re right fucked at the moment. one of the reasons i switched to YouTube tv from att and then sling was that they had FSMW, then they promptly dropped it, along with nearly every other company. FSMW wants entirely too much money to carry them. it really is ridiculous. which tells me that if they do launch their own sub service, it will probably be $10 or more per month, for something i might watch 6 hours of per week. fuck them and this bullshit. cover the games, or don’t, but don’t hold fans hostage. it’s asinine. NHL needs to just abandon regional providers entirely and let center ice carry in-market games. granted, I’d be paying for way more that i will watch with that too, but at least it’s all hockey-related.

Nhl.tv works fine. I’m using it for almost 10 years now.
I cannot say anything about the blackout-rules, because I don’t leave in NA. But with the suggested VPN-solution, I think it should work…

i’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that i won’t be able to watch most of the hockey games this year, and it’s fucking infuriating. i don’t see any of the local or national publications writing about how sinclair is completely fucking sports fans mercilessly, so i guess no one gives a shit that fans won’t be able to watch the games. hope they fucking go broke. i’m no contract lawyer, but if the company you promised exlusivity to is refusing to make the product available to 90% of providers, that consitutes breach of contract, and NHL should elminiate the in-market blackouts from their NHL TV package. what’s sinclair going to do, sue them? fuck them all. if the NHL (and other leagues like MLB and NBA) doesn’t do something about this, or at least say something about this, they clearly don’t give a fuck about fans. it’s bad enough that fox sports is planning on turning our viewing into an OTB screen. it’s not like sports fans have any other options to pick. like, for example, a recovering gambling addict certainly wouldn’t be able to watch sports on a goddamn interactive gambling screen. it’s a fucking shitty idea, shitty to force ALL viewers into it. if you want to give people an option to view that feed, fine. but just throwing this shit all over it? fuck them, fuck sinclair, and i hope this results in their NHL contract being rescinded so we can have something else.

it’s just beyond infuriating. can’t go to games, can’t watch games. “season” might as well not exist for me, and i imagine a great many other fans.

Alert!!!!

Pro sports care about one thing and one thing only.

REVENUE

The leagues, teams & players are just as guilty in this as the carriers but it's easiest to blame the end guy.

right. and hard to generate ad revenue when you are only seen on one provider. that's why the silence is baffling.

players are, at best, complicit. but that's like blaming the IT guy when michael dell does something dumb.

if it were one isolated provider, i'd say they were being stubborn or something. but every provider other than AT&T? that's all on sinclair and media group. they are clearly asking for something unreasonable.

Agreed. All these providers know that the Fox Sports are a big factor when viewers look to pick a service, yet one by one, for the past several years, they have dropped Fox Sports because they claim it's a loser financially. I've had to drop two cable providers, and now two streaming services over this. If I can't find a reasonable service for the Blues and Cardinal broadcast this season, a short season, with Covid implications, etc, the hell with it. These assholes are not going to force me to play their game.

Re: Options For Blues on TV?

that's where i'm at, too. i've switched several times in the last couple years for the same reason, at least in part. my current choice of streaming provider was in part based on the fact that they carried FSMW. now they don't, but i'm not bumping my bill by dozens of dollars for a lesser service just to get it. fuck them. i'm done chasing. and later this year, when they do offer a stand-alone service, i won't be buying it if it's full of gambling ads, etc. same reason i don't go to casinos. fuck them.

Re: Options For Blues on TV?

I'm holding out hope that YouTubeTV and Fox Sports come to an agreement before the season starts still. They dropped Fox Sports immediately following the NHL, NBA, and MLB seasons because their deal was up. They really didn't have any reason to negotiate until now. And even then, they sort of left the door open for that possibility from the articles I read.

Dave's a mess wrote: Wed Jan 06, 2021 1:59 pm Was this an issue during baseball season or did all the providers drop FSMW after the Cards were finished?
My impression, as best I recall, is that it had more to do with the ehding dates on the providers contract with FSMW, rather thsn the teams. The last two times, I chose Sling because they had FSMW. Then they dropped it. I went to HuluLive, because thry had picked FSMW up. Now, they have dropped FSMW too.
Enuf. Having finally seen the Blues win A Cup, I can live without them if need be.
Fuck 'Em. PBR, here I come.
