Once Upon a time in Hollywood

Once Upon a time in Hollywood takes a lot of odd turns. A slow burn look at a struggling actor and his stunt buddy...and Sharon Tate...then three people get their skulls caved in within the span of one minute...then a hippie gets burned up by a flame thrower. I've been advocating the importance of personal flame throwing for years, so this was particularly appealing. There was also the odd introduction of a narrator mid way through the movie, which I couldn't tell if it was a parody or the story was that poorly written. I give it one thumb sideways...not good...not bad...not going to watch it again any time soon. I enjoyed it, but it didn't really seem like it had any focus.

That project was scrapped when they found out she wasn't my Mom.

JMC is actually Tommy Smugala who traveled back in time to right his wrongs and visit as many Zoos as possible.

Zoos have been replaced by hockey arenas. You need to keep up with my time travels.

The ending was great, but after I sat down and thought about it, I felt like I had just watched 2+ hours of nothing to get to one awesome murder scene.

Just like any night at a bar in Southern Illinois. That's why T.C. loved the film.

We don't kill them in the bar...we're more civilized than that! Take them outside first...less mess to clean up.

There was nothing really cohesive about the plot. Brad Pitt's character is fixing his TV antenna...then day dreaming about a fight he had with Bruce Lee...then...nothing. The whole thing with Sharon Tate...what the fuck does it have to do with anything. Manson shows up for about ten seconds...then never shows up again. Way too much time is spent on Leo struggling during that TV show pilot with no payoff. The joke about Dalton being cast in The Great Escape was a perfect set up for some callback jokes...but nothing ever comes of it. Hollywood has to have more stories than what was in this movie, or it needs to go get a hobby.
