I think we need a new thread for non-Blues player moves. As it happens we start with a Cup winner:
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
3Good move for the Canadians IMHO; have always loved JEd's game and he should add some toughness and PK to the defence.

Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
4They still gotta sign him...he may still be having nightmares about playing in front of Jake.
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
5He may also still have a totally unrealistic view of what his value is. He’s a third pairing defenseman who thinks he should be paid like a #3 guy. If I remember, he asked for $4.2 million in arbitration. That helped get his drunken ass traded.Turk Sanderson wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2020 9:53 pm They still gotta sign him...he may still be having nightmares about playing in front of Jake.
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
6That’s a great deal by Bergevin at a cheap price. As long as he doesn’t teach Joel to throw the puck in his own net, Eddie should do just fine. Canadiens need a D guy like him. I’m guessing Carolina has some kids ready to play because I thought Edmundson was doing good over there. I know he started off the season very well.bradleygt89 wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2020 8:04 pmGood move for the Canadians IMHO; have always loved JEd's game and he should add some toughness and PK to the defence.
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
7Caps hiring Laviolette as their new coach. Smart move, although Gallant would have been a good hire as well.
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
8There was a lot of Babcock chatter, but I agree, Laviolette is a great hire for them.Matangama wrote: Tue Sep 15, 2020 8:27 am Caps hiring Laviolette as their new coach. Smart move, although Gallant would have been a good hire as well.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
9I forgot Lav got fired. That is a good hire. Don't know how long he was in Nash but that might not have been a wise move to get rid of him. But maybe it was time.Matangama wrote: Tue Sep 15, 2020 8:27 am Caps hiring Laviolette as their new coach. Smart move, although Gallant would have been a good hire as well.

11Wild lock in Brodin.

Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
12He’s a good D man IMO. AAV arguably a little higher than it should be though. But I say that without looking at his numbers/rankings though.
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
13I certainly wouldn't call him just a guy, but he's probably only the 3rd best defenseman on that team. Who could have seen it coming that the Wild overpay for barely above average talent when every other team is tightening their belts? That team is still such a mess. Love to see it.BillP. wrote: Wed Sep 16, 2020 2:08 amHe’s a good D man IMO. AAV arguably a little higher than it should be though. But I say that without looking at his numbers/rankings though.

14There's some speculation this deal is a precursor to trading Dumba between now and the expansion draft.MissouriMook wrote: Wed Sep 16, 2020 8:55 amI certainly wouldn't call him just a guy, but he's probably only the 3rd best defenseman on that team. 15Wonder if he lost some value on the market though with that injury and bad year he had. I still think he's great, but what's the interest around the league?Dave's a mess wrote: Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:01 amThere's some speculation this deal is a precursor to trading Dumba between now and the expansion draft.MissouriMook wrote: Wed Sep 16, 2020 8:55 amI certainly wouldn't call him just a guy, but he's probably only the 3rd best defenseman on that team. Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
16Check me if I'm wrong, Sandy. Isn't this the guy who was fired for partying (booger sugar) too hard?
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
17Interesting move! Damn good coach, and Fabbri and Edmundson have both been traded, so nobody left to be a bad influence on him!
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
18Yes, though I don't know that it was booger sugar specifically.CaptSMRT wrote: Wed Sep 16, 2020 4:33 pm Check me if I'm wrong, Sandy. Isn't this the guy who was fired for partying (booger sugar) too hard?

Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
20Edmundson just signed in Montreal. 4 years, $3.5m deal. Brutal signing by the Habs IMO
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
21This looks to be the classic trade that made both teams worse.
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
22I like Eddy.....but mainly as a personality. It’s amazing how Canadiens fans think he is a strong top 4 guy, based on a few good games in the bubble playoffs.Beatoni12 wrote: Wed Sep 16, 2020 5:55 pm Edmundson just signed in Montreal. 4 years, $3.5m deal. Brutal signing by the Habs IMO

24What the heck is going on? This forum has woken up from its slumber! Let’s keep it going! It has been so slow around here lately.
Re: NHL Offseason Trades and Signings
25Yeah. I don't believe it was drugs. It would have been a bigger deal.
It wasn't the abuse, it was his actions while under the influence.
