Was this the game that the Blues were winning and Steen speared Shaw towards the end of the game on a faceoff, leading to Shaw having a meltdown and calling the refs "f*ggots"?

That was an incredible series. For me, that was the series where a lot of these guys (Petro, Steen, Tarasenko, Schwartz, etc) really learned what it takes to win. Those lessons finally paid off

Frank Cusumano tearing up in the closing segment of Channel 5's post-Cup victory broadcast. Nothing will ever beat that moment for hypocrisy in STL Blues hockey history.

"...Hire my boy Frank, and I'll give you all of the free Italian food that you want."

I'll keep the memories going. Also involves a Hawks player having a meltdown after a playoff loss. Probably the one most of us (over the age of 30ish) think of first when we think of "Hawk player meltdown". Enjoy!

This was during during my season ticket years...was a great day but man I think Belfour had a pretty good case there. I actually found a broom outside our section ...329 row B seats 13 and 14 and brought it to my seat. I was waving it like crazy after that win.
I miss the old barn...it was my second home. I was there all the time.

Haha thats great. Belfour absolutely had a case, but that's part of what makes it so fun. This is one of my fondest Blues playoff memories, though admittedly there weren't a ton to choose from until last year.

As I remember the story at the time, Belfour was still tearing shit up in the locker room 30 minutes after the handshakes were over.

I'm sure he doesn't want to be anywhere near Bortuzzo right now.

The slow motion reactions of everyone is hilarious. Ott smirking like "yeah I wish I could kick your ass too Sanford", Butler skating in the background like "wtf is wrong with these guys", ROR with no reaction at all, probably thinking "this is still better than Buffalo at least"

Sandford got sent down after that while Bortz got a new 5 year deal or whatever it was!
I’ll give credit where credit is due though ...he came back a much better and hungrier player

I think it was 3 years/$4.125M, and Zach as his skate lacing boy for life.
