Re: JBo Speaks
2That's the most I've ever seen/heard him talk. He's so Canadian! Glad he's feeling well though.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!
Re: JBo Speaks
3Some folks can't decide when to retire... his body just made that decision for him. Enjoy the next phase, Jay.
Re: JBo Speaks
4He seems like he wants to keep playing but doctors say no. Sad, but good for his family to still have him. Probably be in blues front office or coaching staff next year, god willing.
Re: JBo Speaks
5if he retired, wouldnt that go BACK on our cap so with him NOT retiring we can keep his cap hit on the LTIR?
Now now, the Canadian Government has apologized for Bryan Adams on SEVERAL occasions!
Re: JBo Speaks
6Yes, but I don't think formal retirement was ever on the table for this season. If he did that he wouldn't even get paid for the rest of the year. His contract expires at the end of the season so it's not an issue going forward.Ozzies09tc wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2020 4:54 pm if he retired, wouldnt that go BACK on our cap so with him NOT retiring we can keep his cap hit on the LTIR?

Re: JBo Speaks
7I think this is the correct take. If he were to announce his retirement now, even if he didn't formally file the paperwork, GMs around the league would likely be howling that his 35+ contract is no longer eligible for LTIR treatment and should count fully against our cap. Best to just keep things as they are and announce his retirement on April 5, along with the "Win It Again for Bo" campaign for the playoffs.Ozzies09tc wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2020 4:54 pm if he retired, wouldnt that go BACK on our cap so with him NOT retiring we can keep his cap hit on the LTIR?
