This should be a good ole fashion slobber knocker with the two best teams in the West.

About the Avalanche:

Starting with a 5-2 loss Dec. 16 in St. Louis, Colorado is on a 2-5-1 skid. Most recently, the Avalanche lost 7-4 to Winnipeg on New Year’s Eve with the Jets’ Kyle Connor striking for a hat trick. Besides that 5-2 win, the Blues won 3-1 Oct. 21 in St. Louis, and are 6-0 against the Avs since the start of the 2018-19 season. But starting with tonight’s game, each of the final three meetings this season between the Central Division rivals is at Pepsi Center.

Defensemen Erik Johnson and Cale Makar missed the Dec. 16 game against the Blues but are healthy and back in the lineup.

At 23-13-4 Colorado remains in sole possession of second place in the Central with 50 points, but only because they have a game in hand with Dallas, which also has 50. The Avalanche have been better on the road (13-6-2) than at home (10-7-2) this season. They still lead the league in scoring, averaging 3.60 goals per game.

Everything about it is wrong.. Parayko had a grand total of 1 point in all of December so I'm totally confused what is going on there.

Petro has 3 goals and 4 assist in his last 5, they should've just gone with him.

So Kyrou is out? Any reason for that?
For his physicality or something else? Cause I think Sanford is simply a better hockey player.
I'm not a Sanford fan. I guess he'll be motivated tonight because he hasn't played in 2 weeks. When he's motivated, which is short lived, he's decent.

Jmo, but I'll take Brouwer over Sanford every time. Reads the play quicker, plays with a consistent effort, better defensively, and takes the body.
But, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Chief knows what he's doing.

For what it's worth, Sanford is 6th on the team amongst forwards in hits. He's also #1 on the team in giveaway/takeaway ratio.

Chief does in fact know what he's doing.

I have really liked Brouwer's game when he has been in there. He always seems to make the right play with the puck. It doesn't always lead to goals, but he just makes little plays that tend to go unnoticed. He just plays a veteran game. If the playoffs were starting and Chief had to choose between Sanford and Brouwer, I wonder if Sanford would still be his pick?
Also, since we are talking about a spot on the 4th line, Brouwer makes more sense to me. But in Chief I trust! He and Doug can do almost nothing wrong in my eyes now that they brought us a Cup
KA-KAW!
