Nilsson starting, yes we win

1-0 in a shootout sens!!!

Abramov first NHL goal?

Every time we play the Blues we get destroyed by the refs lol

Yep, I have the Blues firmly ensconced in my head as a team that always plays on the dirty side of the rules and always gets away with it.
Plus from childhood a team symbol that was highly unrewarding to draw

Sabu gonna win the Conn Smythe tonight

Oh good Brown is off the top line! Who did they replace him with, probably a good young gun or maybe our new Russian acquisition... *adjusts glasses* Tyler Ennis...
"DoNt MaKe JuDgMeNtS oN tHe CoAcHeS"

I'm scared. Someone hold me. This is gonna be a blood bath.

Nice to see Abramov put in a position to be successful

Guaranteed win AINEC.

Heck, if we're lucky, we'll have 8 of them.
Four on the left side of center, four on the right.

Enjoy your 5:20 of ice time

Sad, but true.

"YoU gUyS aLwAyS nEeD SoMeThInG tO cOmPlAiN aBoUt"

Yeah, I was going to try to pass off that typo as some deliberately facetious gag, but nope. Just a typo. Still, wings sounds good. Now I'm hungry.

Abramov on the 4th and Ennis on the 1st is fairly infuriating honestly. I know the team will end up rolling the lines, but that line is pretty clearly the last option. That's not a position I want skill guys like Abramov/Chlapik/whoever put in.
Happy to see Nilsson in there though.

I'd guess 5-3 st Louis here.

this could be ugly.. if its a blowout I tuning out by 10 to watch the Colorado game lol.

Damn it really should be :
Tkachuk-White-Ryan (good 2nd line?)
Duclair-Anisimov-Namestnikov (good 2nd/3rd line?)
Abramov-Tierney-Brown (good 3rd line?)
Ennis-Pageau-Boedker (good 4th line?)
Sabourin
Unless DJ Smith has instructions that he has to tank to keep his job? lol

Sabourin with the hat trick?

Page number: 2

Agreed. I do feel like you could easily switch any of Anisimov, Tierney and Pageau and it would still work pretty well.
Personally I like Pageau better with Namestnikov and Duclair so I'd switch him with Artem but I really like the winger combos as you laid them out.

Lower bowl and middle 200 tickets are incredibly cheap for this game on Stubhub. Great deal to see the Stanley Cup champs.

Probably at least partly due to all the free tickets the Sens were giving away to fans who bought Home Opener tickets... there was a 2-for-1 promotion where if you bought a ticket to see the Rangers, you got a free ticket to either this game, or... I think the Minnesota game?
In any case, I imagine a lot of those freebies went straight to the resale market.

Not even surprised to see Ennis on the top line. You bring in the players a coach is familiar with (regardless if they are good or bad) and they will get favored.
Just look back at the Pyatt and Boucher love affair

My crystal ball says 5-1.

I believe we beat the lowly Blues 2-0 last year in their first game. But then they became a better team in the new year!

I think you're a bit presumptuous to declare that the Sens will be the 2020 Stanley Cup champions, but I understand the confidence

Bloodbath
We're due
6-1 DSCC

Didn't they won their Stanley cup after beating the leafs in preseason?
Their are already the champ

In OT.

"The Kids Are Alright"
(Because They're Miles Away From This ****show)

How can any of these lines be label a good line when the game starts and they proceed to do nothing productive on the ice?

They could at least make it 4:20 so we could get a laugh.

One minute and 9 seconds to make it nice.

Two of them would have to get a minute 9. Or then it's just awkward.

Hoping for a win but I don't see how they will be able to defend against St. Louis....
4 - 3 loss.. Regulation

Have a feeling Perron is going to mop up tonight.
Very strange feeling, I know

That is very irrationally optimistic for a last place team that has traded all of its best UFA players facing the SC winner.

6-1 Blues baby!

How is Sabourin still in this lineup?

Leading rookies in points,,,,

The Blues are a very physical team, this is one match-up where he makes a lot of sense.

Good to see DJ's favorites continue to get prime top 6 and top 4 roles. I guess it should be expected, he was taught by Mike Babcock, the master of unwarranted favoritism.

Page number: 3

It's sweet to see 4 former sens on the 1st page of the league stat sheet which includes only 10 players!

Don't worry. Logan Brown and Drake Batherson will be on there once they fully develop. The kids are alright.

Tyler Ennisky

Let's get that first one Abramov.

imagine we just kept those players and added these prospects to them.

How is the attendance looking tonight?

Looks as good as Boros defense. Not good

They put fresh red paint on the seats to make it harder to tell.

Good start

Zaitsev not terrible early on.
That Tkachuk tumble was gifable

lol tkachuk

we need to sell high on tierney

Abramov gets his first!

Vitaly!

WHAT A SNIPE!

back to the ahl now

Nice pass by Sabbbbbb

Called it! Now sit you scum.

It was a great forcheck by Sabourin.

Sabu just cannot be contained.

Sabourin with another point.

Abramov!!!
And that was actually a great feed by Sabu.

I'll never understand why fans of teams who aren't playing wear their jerseys in the arena.

Abramov with his first goal I am sure he will be in the press box on Saturday.

Page number: 4

Pretty good feed by Sabourin

Yep told ya

Nice nice nice.
Abramov just scores.
Abramov do rebounds

Wham bam abramov

The fans sitting along the glass were losing their minds, jumping like crazy

LOL

Nobody can contain Sabourin . That guy is way too good for this league.

Sabourin made the simple play. Skate in hard, get the puck and put it in front of the net. Good things can happen and it did.

Man Nilsson look way faster in net.

Which side?
The glass where Abramov celebrated they were sitting on their hands

ennis is too weak on the puck

My god they left that broken glass there for a while... Dangerous.

I see Melnyk opted for the cheap glass.

Dang, Tkachuk just isnt that good anywhere that isnt in front of the net or finishing a check.

Ya, sarcasm . It was embarrassing.

Decent period!

I got the sound off here. Are they just adding the extra time to period 2?

Wow that is awful

Yup
You.... changed your avatar?!

Nice Sabramov connection.

'injuries are part of the hockey' - philosopher Vitaly Abramov

Am I the only one that really likes Zaitsev? He looks great!

He's all over the place but not in a bad way (not in a good way either).
He's a puzzling player.

Oof.
Hopefully Eugene goes to the casino to try to make up for it.

Page number: 5

Watching the Astros/Rays game.
I see we have a lead.... weird.

PD is calling the credit card company to see if it offered extra warranty.

Bruce is on TV! Silence please! The great one speaks
[edit]
Bruce G says "Melnyk is not going anywhere. He has no intention of selling. News at 11"

I like the way he skates.

Bruce Shillioch says no sale. Must be true then!

Westbound 417 is backed up for miles due to an accident. I wonder if that's holding up some folks who may be coming from the East end.

Bruce has his own batphone that exclusively calls Melnyk.

He's more like Charlie and Bruce is one of his angels.

What happened that they had an intermission break before the 1st finished?

Bruce Garrioch, as seen 5 seconds after saying this on national television:

Anisimov!!!
Hooray for Russia!

Oh no, Russia is taking over the Capital

Damn. nice shot by Anisimov. Good play by Brown as well.

Great play by Brown to get the puck to Arty.

Ruskies are running wild!

russian invasion. was the key to success all along...more russians. damn melnyk standing in the way of success

Spasibo!

Broken glass

Broken glass needed to be fixed.

The Russians are alright!

Another ov goal

Page number: 6

Allen is the gift that keeps on giving.

Come on Namestnikov! Let's get the OV hat trick!

The Ottawa Russians score 2 goal tonight and 2 assist. Viva la Russia!

I like how calm Brannstrom is in traffic.

I know that we don't have a ton of skill and the other teams are simply better but it seems to me that a lot of the mistakes we make are easily preventable. Like, why are you sending a puck to nowhere or trying the low percentage play everytime. You'd think we could probably get rid of SOME mistakes by making simple passes and simple plays.

St Louis is out playing us, but we definitely have capitalized on our chances and seem to be looking like an actual NHL team tonight

I think its a good spot for him to start in, with two hard working guys... especially Pageau but to an extent Sabourin too. Sabourin will fall off as the pace goes up but for now he works hard enough to fare decently. All that said I really really like Abramov/Pageau as a duo for this season
And yeah Nilsson needs to be our starter

Full credit to Nilsson as well. He looks strong.

They should put Abramov-Anisimov-Namestnikov together!

Pageau just calibrated his stick. Yep... right in the crest. Works good!

Someone better do something to change the momentum before the Blues get rolling

Night and day from the first two games. What a relief.

what the **** brady

If that was Abramov instead of Ennis it would've been in

Holy ****

Can't believe we didn't score there.

They used to say, Ottawa hates Russians, and now Ottawa has 4 Russians on the roster. Weird.

Except vs Ennis

Had the Sens scored it might have been offside

That's 4th overall skill, baby.

Brady really ****ed that up.

Brady. Ugh.

Unlucky be Brady. Couldn't get it up

Page number: 7

What a save by Allen but that was a pretty bad play from Brady.

Right?

He was in front of the net there. **** happens.

He's 20, that shouldn't be a problem.

When you're cheap we don't care where you're from

Brady has some serious balance issues. He really needs to work on that.

Hainsey looking very ordinary on that play

Hainsey is a skating meme

Assist to Sabourin for coughing up the puck and the penalty.

That was a snipe from Perron. Nice shot!

Man how do you just let a guy skate up and shoot it like that? Terrible D.

That Ennis goal was so close I got an actual NHL notification that Ennis scored a wrister at 8:24 putting the Sens up 3-0. Now they think it's 3-1. LOL

Really like Ennis on this line, but whites been pretty impressive so far even with low production

Nice steal by White though. He's been playing well. Still improving.

Boro is still ****ing horrible

He has serious issues with the puck lol.
NILlson not good

He seems to have very little confidence in his shot but the hockey sense just oozes out of the guy.

... He's a witch!

we hate drafting Russians. No problems otherwise.

That play was timbits hockey bad

Hainsey and Boro are terrible...

He turned me into a newt!

We're just going to give Brady a bit of time to develop his skills. He's great down low but the rest of his game is a bit awkward right now. He's going to start looking great around 22-23 imo.

Boro stupid penalty incoming

Page number: 8

No idea what Boro was doing on that play before they hit the post.

Hainseys veteran presence is getting walked all over by STL.

If we haven't traded him by then.

NILlson not good

The guy is a literal sieve in the defensive zone. No defence whatsoever

He is definitely a pass first center. Production will come. He get chances, he create chance and his solid defensively.
The only problem right now is that he is asked to play in a chair that is not his and might never be.

Thanks for the update. I mean that's probably how we will get a lot of our goals this year lol. If Nilsson stands on his head that might be all we need. 2-1.

Yup. Same thing happened with Mika. In Binghamton and early NHL days he never liked controlling the puck

Well that was interesting for a bit...

the Sundqvist is always brighter in St Louis

Did Duke come back after the blocked shot?

I feel like White gave the shooter too much time and space there

He's getting pretty brutal matchups too. He's going to see top pairing defenders every night this year.

I thought it was Brannstrom?

Box squat

He is our captain!

Ease back lads we've scored 2 goals, we're winners already.

It is that time of the game where we will see if anyone is a leader to turn this back around

Damn Thachuk? How can someone be this bad at hockey. I don't even know what to say anymore. His skill level is doing all the talking for me
BTW, that 2-0 breakaway is the reason why White will never be a top 1/2 center in this league. No comments on Thachuk

I go to get a snack when it is 3-0, I come back and it is 2-2. WTF.

Does Jake Allen just do this for kicks lol

I hate Chris Tierney

Page number: 9

Duclair with the great stick

He is so bad.

Looks like Tierney kicked out really wide, White sat back in the slot and the D must have been on to the right of Nilsson unless I'm reading the numbers wrong.
I'm probably wrong, but I can't find the goal and don't feel like trying anymore. Lets agree it was probably Brannstrom, because having 3 centers on the ice and one in the defenders position seems odd.

2nd goal was weak.
Been defending Ryan so much last few years but man, last 2 games he has been so bad that even I see it.

Duclair - White - Abramov please.

Give us the slo mo.. You are talking about sundquist's goal?

Yeah, I think I just misread the number, was likely Brannstrom.

Brannstrom is -1 and White is even so its Brannstrom.

Armstrong looks like he needs a dart STAT

Tierney says take that Hf

Maybe he's not Gallagher if he can't get away with that play

Well

I hate Chris Teirney....

Lol

Great work by Tierney.

Tierney is amazing

Who else do you hate?

He's rules!

Looks like he saw your comment.

Still don't like Tierney

Pageau's gone

Allen not looking sharp on that one.

Who's this guy?

I love Chris Tierney

Page number: 10

And, still better than Thachuk

"œWe're a Tierney"

I still hate him lol

I don't get all the hate Tierney gets around here. He's solid.

Good rebound boys

in mother Russia goal scores you

We seem to be playing much better, aside from Ryan, Hainsey and Boro who all still stink.

Tierney continues to baffle me. He'll be a non-factor most of the time and then score a goal like that. What gives Chris?

Hot'n'cold player and his hot is more like... lukewarm?

I assume people say they "hate" a player when they dislike the way they play the game?
Tierney only gets scrutinized due to the fact he was part of the trade that sent arguably the best Senators player in history the other way. I am not sure what people expected from him but he has been fairly consistent since he arrived and once people lower their unrealistic expectations, they might see that Tierny is a very versatile player.

He does the minimum. Then sometimes he tries and we get this.

How's Namestnikov?

No.

Gesundheit!

Better than Boedker

If Chris Tierney was acquired for say, Nick Paul and a 3rd round pick instead of Karlsson, you believe he would still be receiving this much slack?

Can't speak for others but my judgement of him has nothing to do with who he was traded for to get here.
Also if your statement is true how come Demelo doesn't get criticized much at all?

Well you don't know any of that for sure.
I think his biggest problem right now is that he's not Russian.

Why would we give up that much for him?

Exactly how I feel about it. We traded one of the most exciting players in the league for one of the least exciting. Tierney is still a very smart and effective player. Great on the PK and racks up the points.

Sounds like secret agent Ceci is doing a great job in Toronto judging by twitter reactions lol

We knew that before he even got on the plane from NY to Ottawa, though.

for example?

Page number: 11

Because Dorion
And you can add a 2nd probably

How do I go about subscribing to this newsletter?

Celebrated that goal so hard that I may have inadvertently broken a door or 3 on the LRT...

Was already loose
Not your fault

I like Zaitsev's defensive game more than Ceci's. Not sure about his offense but he keeps it pretty simple. He closes well and is physical. We saw some flakey decision making in preseason but he seems to have cleaned that up.

thanks that's enough

Better then Ceci
Did a terrible job on Perron goal though

Amazing

Maple Laffs 3 Tampa Bayss 7 final

Got more?

Chabot still a beauty

Nilsson looking like swiss cheese on that one.

Tierney with a good game so far

Phew we nearly went 4-2, no one likes a show off. That's better, share the lead like good humans.

Was a sick set up by him and Tkachuk. Would liked to see Ennis try to finish in instead of the one touch pass

What, yellow?

I wouldn't trust Ennis to finish a happy meal...

Pretty good shot by Brady but I agree, I think the one touch pass gave Allen the extra second to get set up.

That was play at the blue line and neutral zone by Chabot was Karlsson like

but he fumble the one before that

Duclair's got a pretty long stick
He's using it very well

We got an shot of a non delayed LRT commute!
*Sheds a single tear

Settle down there Pierre.

oooo that pass was a patented Spezza no-look to Casper

Page number: 12

I'm not even sure if we can get anything for Hainsey at the deadline. He looks done.

That was Tierney the beloved that got walked there .. on the PP

It was delayed that's how they got the shot

If you want him to settle down go to his kids hockey practice and make him.

Was right before my fist pump dislodged one of the doors.

His kid? Pffff. No way that ass clown has gotten laid...

He's retired. Little parting 3.5 from Euge on his way out.. Dorion thinking again.

Very fair point about DeMelo, I assume it is due to the fact our offense is so terrible this year we are really praying for one of our guys to step up and replace some of the production that is now missing from losing Stone and Duchene.
In some weird, backwards way, I guess all the criticism Tierney gets is somewhat of a backhanded compliment because most Sens fans can see that he has "more to offer" and what we are seeing is not necessarily his limit which could be why some fans have higher expectations of him.
He proved on that SH goal tonight that he definitely has some speed and skill, but we do not see it consistently enough.

The D that turned his back?
Hainsey I think my bad

The Laffs plan to play all 82 games in October seems to be backfiring...

We had no PP yet? Are the Blues that discipline or are the red missing some call

what a chance...

Delete

NJD .. want another early pick by the looks of it.

They haven't missed anything egregious, but given some of the calls we have seen early in this season they could have called one or two on the Blues. Once this PP is over, if Ottawa can get a good push in the offensive zone they should be able to draw something.

We need a Duclair speed burst

SCHRENN

GG

Love how the blues have totally played a penalty free game. Sure

Brutal

well.. that was ugly

Making it look good. Very sneaky!

Nothing egregious stood out

Page number: 13

Habs game over....
Sens game.... umm...

Looks like an aquarium job...

360 no scope

Maybe we should send Brann down so he can work on a PP? Not many minutes lately ...

If we play every game like this and lose, I could live with that this season.

Idiots at TSN !!
Spasibo not Spasiba!

Yes our tank just did a 360 no scope on that Schenn goal

Agreed. It's not like they're getting blown out in any game so far. Toronto was poor shot wise though

DUCLAIRAMOV!!!!

Been bowflexin it by the looks of things...

Duchene!

Duclaaaaaiiir

The Duke!!!

Great steal by Ryan

Jake Allen might be the worst goalie in the NHL.

Duke!!!

Good steal by Ryan. Caught the blues being too casual in the corner.

Ryan all over that goal.

Ryan has had a solid game

Oh well nice play by Ryan there!

What name does Fuhr post under these days? Is it Answer?

Was literally just thinking about how Ryan needs to continue his point domination of the Blues, I believe he has over 30 points in his career against them.

I worked with a Russian for over year, just the two of us. He always pronounced it spasiba.

That was a funny slip

Page number: 14

just got another point... he is the best.

I know... I have been to russia lots.
All Os are pronounced as A

Duclair is a beauty, really hope he can find some consistency here.

Damn Nilsson

Lets hire Putin as a GM!

Has NILlson stopped a single shot tongoht

Dammit Bondra

Nilsson buddy...

lol

Nilsson not making the big saves tonight.

Nilsson is the true tank commander

Something similar happened to me today. Meant to say "good morning" to my boss but accidentally said "**** you **** ****er, you're ruining my life you melon arsed mother****er".

Chabot was so out of position on that 5th goal.

Strong game by Ryan, wow

What a Freudian slip!

CHICago up by 1

5-4
shocked.....
glad I'm not watching. Colts beat the chiefs and ive been riding that high all week, didn't want the Sens to ruin that for me.

Bobby Ryan playing like a 6 million dollar player tonight, 1 more million to go buddy.

We've all been there. Just need to drink your coffee first.

Damnnnn Bobby Ryan or Bobby Bergeron ?

This has been a great game

Well your loss as it is a very entertaining game. If you only planned to watch games this season where the Sens are winning, well let us just say that you will not be watching many games.

Page number: 15

I will be happy if we lose. Great entertainment and we keep the plan alive lol

Why was hainsey on with our net empty and we're down a goal ?

I have to question the decision of having Hainsey on the ice for the 6 on 5.

Standards are pretty low for Sens fans these days.

TIerney goes brain dead so often lol

Neilsson was nowhere on that 6th goal...****!

I was hoping we would win so I could post the Russian national anthem in celebration

We are a team

Welp, it was fun while it lasted.

He was picking up DJs skip the dishes order. The driver couldn't get to the bench.

Because it's part of the plan. Good thing he was on the ice!!

What are you blaming him for? He won the draw

I don't know what to say. The Sens played a great game and the Blues are an excellent team.
I am pleased I stayed in to watch it.

woof... Tierney just lets Bozak skate unimpeded past him. Terribad

Looooook at my guy Sabourin trying the sneak the puck between the defender legs!!! Atta boy sabou! MVP!

Wingers should have jumped in. He won the draw.

He also went for a change as he was chasing the puck carrier behind the net in the o-zone earlier.
Infuriating player to watch.

Pageau used to be one of my favourite Senators, but he has been completely invisible for a while. If I had to choose between he and Tierney at this point, it would be an easy choice for me.

It's been a fun game but I would not call it "great".

I feel like this is what I expected this season, lose but be competitive.

As good a loss you could hope for

That was the end of a long shift which he was just PKing

All he has to do is not let the center skate straight up the ice and there's no goal there. He basically moved out of the way and gave Bozak the path. That's on Tierney.

That's exactly what we want, right ? Fun game all year but lose? Anyway this is what I want.

This is what nhl hockey has become. They want these high scoring games when there was nothing wrong with low scoring tense games

I would have been watching, but watching the Astros Rays game instead. Starting 0-3 however is not fun regardless of entertainment and rebuilding.

Page number: 16

Solid loss
Hainsy and Boro are atrocious.
Would like to move Abramov up to the top line

Ideal scenario. Last thing you want as a young team is to be constantly caved in. Brannstrom and Abramov got some good minutes in tonight.

Just happy to see my team on the same ice as the Stanley Cup Champions. What a lovely day!

So you just let the guy with the puck do whatever he wants?
I'm gonna go with "no" here.

Probably has been. I would be watching if i wasn't watching baseball. But starting 0-3 is still **** regardless of entertaining games.

Tierney is younger, RFA and better offensively. I like Pageau, and am no fan of Tierney, but at this stage, Tierney is the guy to keep.

As a pretty vocal Pageau backer, I'm sad to say I agree. He's lost a lot of the "spunkiness" that made him a good player. Hopefully he can get better as the season progresses, but right now he's very disappointing. He should be much more visible out there with the roster we have.

Actually, that's perfect.

This game felt tense to me, what is the difference to you between 1-1 and 4-4? A tie is a tie.

Good times everyone
Peace

When is the last time we did not have a PP in a game?

Yup! Perfect!!!

I would have liked to win this game. So I could throw it in some Toronto fan friends faces that Ottawa beat the Stanley Cup Champs. Alas...

I'm satisfied with tonight's game, it was a valiant effort. The last 2 I went away feeling a sense of disgust

I disagree. Why are the wingers just watching a puck lay there. Jump in a get the puck ffs.

When a game is like 7-6 let's just say, there's barely any tension, it's just scrimmage hockey . Just my opinion. I like low scoring tight playoff type games

I think we might be slightly less fragile than the LRT.

Happy for the tank. Would be nice to win one game at some point lol. Guess was silly of me to think we could do it against the champs. Oh well glad it was an entertaining game.

Yeah thats absolutely not on tierney. He did his job there.

This is Beautiful.

Been a while since pageau had a game as good as tierney did tonight. Guess that settles it, trade pageau to pittsburgh

They won't be winning any beauty contests, that much is true.

Brannstrom is showing signs that he will be a top 3 defenseman in the future. I would say top 2 but it is still early to tell however I was very impressed with his demeanor on the ice and his ability to take that extra second before making a pass. That to me is a talent only elite players have, as they do not simply panic and rim it around the boards or blast a 100 mph pass to the nearest teammate like Ceci and Borowiecki do.
Brannstrom seems to have good hockey sense and as he gets older, he will definitely start putting up the points and being a little more confident and controlling when he is on the ice; patience will be key with him. In fact, he needs a mentor, similar to how Karlsson had Kuba and then Methot who allowed him to take little risks while they covered for him. Right now, only DeMelo fits that description but he is fairly young himself so a bit unfair to anchor him with a rookie.

Almost as good as these guys
Add a Fedorov and a Larionov and a Konstantinov .. and we are right back in business... Its sad that we are so far away from anything hinting at resembling a contender.

Page number: 17

Boro is way past it, we should put him out to Tunney's Pasture...

I agree that this was about as good an effort as we can expect from this group of players, especially against the Cup champs. We can manage to score but push comes to shove talent takes over and St-Louis has a ton of it, and we just don't have the kind of goaltending that can steal you games like these.

The Russians are alright.

Regardless of what the wingers are doing, Tierney still has a role, he has a simple job. Stand in Bozak's way so that he can't pressure the play. He literally moves aside to create the lane.

His role was to win the face off which he did. The Sens have an extra forward lined up in the face off and still nobody jumped in.

Sens goaltending + Boro = tank is safe

DJ could have given Abramov a couple more minutes but that might have cut into Brown's icetime so what are you going to do

What can you do, he's no Tyler Ennis(and his 17 mins of toi LOL).

Sure, I guess if his role ends after winning the faceoff, he did fine. Reality is your role goes beyond half a second into a shift. Tierney didn't win it clean, it bounce back into the gap between the forwards and the D. Tkachuk took his man and prevented him from going to the puck, Tierney lets his man blow past him while he's looking the wrong way though and the D doesn't have enough time to get to the puck before Bozak gets to it in stride.

Duclair with only 12:57 tonight. Big goal. Some good hustle plays on D, a painful block and failed to cover his man on a draw that led to goal. Find some more ice for this guy. He's doing everything you want of him.
Overall good effort. Kept me entertained. Still, use Brannstrom, Duclair and Abramov more please.
Hainsey had 20+. Barf

We scored goals. So there's that.

DJ mentioned both Duclair and Abramov in the post game as players that he would have liked to give more minutes to, but that he expected to use them on the PP, and the bench ended up being a little shorter with the PK.

Was at the game... I predicted about 8500... I was close...never seen it so empty.
Nilsson was bad but defensively Hainsey, Demelo struggled too along with others.

Fun game to watch, definitely their best game so far. I like how they pushed back and it just felt like there was a lot of space out there. We had the puck.
Bottom line is that was a winnable game and that is a good thing. Nilsson and Chabot let this team down tonight. They will both have to be a lot better.
I liked the lines, and hopefully they can build on it, but Tampa is coming in, hot.
Senators should see if TD Place is available, it would help with the atmosphere

Well deserved.

Chabot always plays like that. He will not be better.

The tank is still alive!
still feels **** to keep losing though.

Ryan was terrible and played 10 minutes. Slow, lazy mind, soft.
I say he gets benched - he's just not good enough for the NHL

Same Ryan who slowly and lazylly stealed puck forechecking and make perfect pass to Duclair ?

I guess so, Sabourin has made more plays then him this season if we are keeping count.
$7.5 million and 10 minutes on the worst team in hockey - there's reality and there's rose coloured glasses

Some people just don't get it.
ricky bobby is so fast that he looks slow.

getting a goal and the assist coming from sabourin was a curse... now DJ thinks there a "duo"

ryan has legit talent. no one denies that.. I didn't think he was terrible last night but the first two games indicate that this may be a long season... made even longer if every time he makes a tape to tape pass we have people on here like "WHOOAAA IS THAT THE RYAN YALL SAY CANT PLAY!?"

Nilsson really put on the hard hat for us last night and got the L.

Page number: 18

Agree with that. IMO, It's not the score that matter but the way it is played.
A slow defensive 1-1 is trash. But a fast pace 1-1 with a lot a key save is perfect.

Didn't see the game. Now did Nilsson look? Is he the next Patrick Roy?

As good of a game as you can ask for. Our talent up front is so thin.
Our record is going to look better than it actually is at the end of the year, if we faced a starting goalie 30 times this year I'd be surprised. Teams are going to schedule their back-ups against us as often as possible.
Allen looked like a duffle-bag out there.

He did make a few good saves; the sequence ending with him robbing Ennis after Tkachuk flubbed the return pass to white and then shot the rebound from a bad angle that when right to Ennis in the slot was pretty darn good

Eh, I don't really agree. It was a good end for him making the save for sure, but I don't really think it had anything to do with him. More so that we just did his work for him.
I think we score if White shoots, or if Tkachuk shoots on the pass.
I haven't seen it since it happened live in the background while doing some work, so I could be way off.

Anisimov really seemed to come alive with Brown. Good pairing
Not sure about Nemesnikovvvs on that line though
Abramov was flying by the end of the game
His trip on Paryko was kinda awesome lol
Imo the white//tkachuk pairing needs someone creative on that line...Nemesnikovvvs maybe??

I'm wondering what could White do at RW instead of Center . Even if i like his defensive game down in our zone. Maybe it could benefit him.
Tonight, he look like he went to Mark Stone's school of pickpocketery. He broke a lot of plays when the Blues tried to transition from Defence to Offence. I hope points come at some point, because he do a lot of good thing overall.

I'm ok wit that. Finishing o-82 is a tad embarrassing. Even Miami Dolphins fans would laugh at us.

Abramov

Pretty much what I want to see.
An L, but good signs from the young lads. Hopefully Tierney can produce regularly and up that trade value.

I am a Dolphins fan, believe it or not.
At least finishing last guarantees us Tua
And one of their other 1st's that they own is likely to be in the top 5-10, as the Steelers are on their 3rd string QB and 1-4.
Then their other 1st is likely to be around when the Sharks pick will be, somewhere in the mid-late round.
Very similar situations, but the Dolphins have the better value in picks. Plus another 1st and couple of 2nd-3rds next year.
I like Tua as the more valuable piece than Laf/Byfield as well. The guy is a machine, and the Dolphins have the biggest need in the league for his position.
The guy had 7 TD's last game, and has 25 in the first 5 games, no interceptions, and he's sat out the 4th quarter in every game I believe

Haha ya I was just kidding. I hope you guys get Tua! Miami was a pretty solid team a couple seasons with Tannehill and made playoffs. Can't imagine what they would do with Tua! Someone needs to start challenging the pats in that god damn division. Bills defense is up for the challenge this year but offensively not so much. I think Tua is going to be an excellent player!
I'm a colts fan by the way. We are still trying to find our identity with no Luck. The run game and defense was magnificent against the Chiefs, but brutal the week before against Oakland lol. Story of this season. Inconsistent.

Yeah Tkachuk and White need a guy, like Stone, who can create and setup opportunities for them. Neither guy is very good at creating offence from the neutral zone and blue line.
Tkachuk is among the best in the league from the hashmarks down, and White is a complete player, but neither is known, or very good at lugging the puck up the ice and setting plays up in the offensive zone. They are missing a very big piece on that line, and we don't have it available at the moment.

Just saw the highlights. Team started out on fire, up 2-0. Wow. Well..... then they remembered we are tanking.

i hope Brown and Batherson were watching Abramov cause thats how you make yourself noticeable

Tierney makes Ryan look like a speed skater.

White was really good, and maybe I forgot how quick he is, or he definitely picked up a step this summer.

Exactly my issue with Brown during pre-season. Abramov had a good game even if he had not scored that goal. He at least showed that "eventually he can produce" by making things happen. Unfortunately with Brown, you could see him skate around, handle the puck a little, but then nothing really happened in the offensive zone with him.
I am hoping Smith gives the following lines a test:
Tkachuk- White- Abramov
Duclair- Tierney- Ryan
Namestnikov- Anisimov- Brown
Sabourin- Pageau- Ennis

I miss the old JGP

Give it time; I think he bounces back. Not every is an EK65 and even he took a while to return to form from an Achilles injury.
