Matthew Tkachuk is the first NHL player to release his own non-fungible token (NFT), a unique piece of memorabilia that has become all the rage in the collecting world.

Proceeds of the sale of the piece of digital sports memorabilia will benefit St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. Also included for the winning auction bidder is a signed game-used stick, an autographed jersey, and a postgame or virtual meet-and-greet with Tkachuk.

“It was an exciting opportunity, and for me to be able to pair it up with a charitable cause as well, in two charities and two hospitals — the Alberta Childrens and St. Louis Childrens — it was a no brainer for me to get involved,” Tkachuk said in an interview posted on his social media channels. ...

Gotta love the great questions.

I respect this more than his goal scoring ability.

Jeez, you can’t even help a guy find his helmet anymore.

Lesson Learned: Next time Mac will skate over to his helmetless opponent & put the lid directly on the guy's head.

In MacKinnon's defense, Connor Garland does have a face that you just want to throw a helmet at. I like how he throws the helmet at the guys face, but then when he skates over he doesn't even know he's supposed to put his hands up. TC is probably right, this is just a friendly guy trying to protect an opponent's head. Put this clip on MacKinnon's Lady Byng campaign reel.

A well written long read from a moment I didn't know much about in hockey history. Highly recommend if you have the time:

This was written a while ago, but is fairly timely given the conversations about officiating recently.

Sabres 7-5-3 when Ullmark is in net. 1-18-3 when he’s not. Coincidence?

Hall and first for Sanford confirmed.
How do the Peoria Rivermen's old washer & dryer pair figure into this transaction? Appliances to be named later?

Doug wouldn't budge on those. He did include D'Ags and a 3rd, but only if Buffalo took Lehtera's contract.

I wouldn’t trade Sanfords panty lined athletic supporter for Taylor Hall.

Despite the downward spiral, I had a hard time identifying a forum whipping boy so I went with a classic. Besides it'd be worth it since Hall would win us the draft lottery.

Even when I’m supporting the whipping boy...I’m still whipping him! That’s the genius of it!

My boy Sanford is the only player on this team who isn’t affected by the blitz. He’s been a very effective possession player this season. The Kracken’s gonna get themselves a pretty decent player, unless DA decides to keep him.

Agreed. It would give us full control of our prospect development.
