Well it’s no longer the off-season so I guess we need a different thread to discuss action around the league.

Jets - Rangers and Yotes - Ducks on ESPN+ tonight
Wild - Preds NBCSN

When's the season's first match-up of the Montreal Wanderers & the Renfrew Creamery Kings? I hope it's an HNIC game, so Don Cherry can see some of his contemporaries play again.

Stars open up season against Bruins and Blues. According to Benn, it can’t get better than that.

Looking forward to the Preds/Wild game. Story is Parise and Zuccarello look good together on a line.

So what's the latest word on Grapes' HNIC contract with Rogers? Summer buzz was he wouldn't be renewed, but I couldn't find a story citing his current contract expiration date. :?:

False information by somebody trying to break a story. Cherry and Coaches corner is good to go for 2019

Shattenkirk baby! He’s got a goal tonight! I would of loved to have pick him up as my 4th D on fantasy team.

Sabres putting it all over the Penguins...lets see if they can play some defense in the 3rd and get the win.

Shattenkirk paired with Herman tonight. Looks like Tampa has high hopes for Shatty as he got a PP goal tonight

Damn, watching 3rd period and Shatty looking awesome. He’s going to put up numbers this year if he’s Herman’s partner and plays PP. And you know Maroon looks good tonight - ha.

Maroon with a PP goal. He doesn’t look out of place at all with Tampa.

Maroon just parked his ass in front of the net and Florida didn't even attempt to move him out of the crease!!!

Yeah, Florida looks the same to me. It’s early but still, they might need some changes.

I know I've said this like 3 times already, but Shattenkirk played like an All Star last night. He topped all D in minutes played. Albeit by 5 seconds but still. It'll be interesting to see if he can play like this all year. Looks like a perfect fit with Tampa and their speed. Lots of open ice. Shatty out to prove he's still a Top D man.

Roman Polak was stretchered off the ice last night. Reports this morning are that he has full feeling in his body.

However, it appears there's some blowback going on about Jack Edwards comments during the incident.

I was just reading this... what exactly is wrong with the phrase "bad hockey karma?" Sounds like he was just saying that it was an unfortunate play... I did not hear the entire call though.

Karma implies that what goes around comes around. If you do good things, good things will happen to you and vice versa. Edwards was basically saying Polak deserved to be hurt for being a dirty player.

Ah gotcha. Honestly I would have never thought that's what he meant by that. I wonder if he just chose poor wording...

Pretty much how I took it as well. Almost implying he deserved what he got.

I'm fairly confident he knew exactly what he was saying. It'd fit in with Edward's history of wishing ill on anyone that has the audacity to not play for the Bruins. Having said that I'm sure he didn't expect Polak was going to need a stretcher to get off the ice.
