"Centennial Bank filed an $8.3 million lawsuit in Florida federal court against Kane and the Sharks over pending debt."

The guy got an $8.3 million dollar payday loan. Borrowing against future earnings to invest in something profitable can be a very savvy move...gambling and buying ciggs with the money is a path to being broke.

Hey, that $1.8 million in legal fees for a counter lawsuit against the woman he beat up was money well spent I'm sure.

Yikes. Don't know what happened there, but the best thing these young millionaires can do is hire a trustworthy wealth manager. The worst thing they can do is hire an untrustworthy one...or your parents if you're Jack Johnson.
Apparently he has a major gambling problem. He is into some Vegas casinos for several million and I read that he said he lost over a million just over the Christmas holidays. This has been somewhat public knowledge for awhile, but I guess nobody could get through to him. Personally, I'd be a bit uncomfortable defaulting on all that Vegas money. I know it's not the old days, but there are still some shady characters in some of those casinos.

"The San Jose Sharks’ Evander Kane has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, as documents in a California court this week shed light on his prodigious gambling habit. The NHL left-winger is $26.8 million in debt, according to the court filings. He has lost $1.5 million gambling over the past month alone."

Speaking of Farabee, has there ever been a trade that has worked as perfectly for both sides as the Schenn-Lehtera deal? The Blues rid themselves of Lehtera's cap hit and pick up a piece that is essential to winning the Cup in Schenn. The Flyers end up drafting Frost and Farabee with the picks they acquired in the deal.

No way I give up Suzuki. Montreal has plenty of pieces to deal. I’d give up Kotkaniemi before Suzuki. First offer would be Poehling, Mete plus draft picks. If it takes Kotkaniemi to get it done then I’d do it but no Suzuki.

Depends how bad the Habs want PLD. Supposedly the BJs are getting more interest than they even expected, so might as well ask for Suzuki.
...but whatever, the Blues won the Cup!!!!!
