As has already been mentioned, why choose the Flames? They aren't close to winning a Cup. The taxes are higher. The travel is worse and if the dollars are the same it is a no brainer.

I think the Blues interest was tepid at best. "Kicking the tires".

If you're Jagr, you probably see that Calgary has arguably the best D-Core in hockey and hasn't been decimated by injuries up front. I agree that Mike Smith sucks, but I'm not sure Jake Allen has convinced the rest of the league he's the real deal.

Also maybe there are more models in Calgary. I assume for Jagr, living in Canada will be like shooting fish in a barrel on off nights.

According to Elliotte Friedman on twitter, Jagr deal is done with Calgary. 1 mil in salary plus 1 mil in bonuses. Official announcement once he arrives in Calgary.

I am glad armstrong tried to get jagr. I am also glad I don't have to grow a mullet with my son. (Family agreement ).

This season is messed up. Anything could happen record wise with this team. From great to poor, it's all possible.
