Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

In Armstrong we trust has maybe been used too much in the last few years. It seems that if you're always a middling team, never getting close to the top tier draft picks thats where you'll stay. Yes, you might get a diamond from the late first or second round once in awhile, but that's rarifide air...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

So who's got the iso-view of the Devils' goalie during all this? The Rafters Cam caught him still in his crease at the end of that clip. Did the NHL on TNT production crew fit him with a helmet camera pre-game, and instruct him to stay put for footage to be used in their upcoming MultiVersus Face-O...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

It's too bad hockey fans hate this. I just know Bettman was in his office throwing a tantrum watching this. I believe 4 of the 5 skaters on the ice for each team were ejected after the opening line brawl. How would you feel being the one guy on each side that apparently didn't fight hard enough to ...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

This whole situation completely alters the Blues offseason. You now have a top 6 forward spot you expected filled that now needs a body. Kapanen, Blais and Scandella are all going to be UFAs this summer. That opens about $7.5 in cap space. The only RFAs are Alexandrov and Perunovich, neither of whi...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

Who knows, maybe he'll pull a Cooley and end up signing after having more time to think on it. I'm sure the loss and feeling like you're leaving Minnesota without accomplishing your goal is fresh and raw in his mind. With all of that said, if the Blues dangled Snug to land an elite d-man this off-se...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

https://twitter.com/andystrickland/status/1775254485570351341 This is why Andy makes the big bucks. Blues shouldn't be alarmed AT ALL that the player they think is NHL ready is bypassing a ton of money because the college coaches want him to continue to play in college. I know others on here feel o...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

Hopefully it's just a one year thing and he still fully intends to come here. Still sucks that it'll be at least another year before it happens. “I am excited to announce I’m coming back to the University of Minnesota next season,” Snuggerud said in a statement. “It was a tough ending to this season...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

Not the news we wanted. We can now start to stress if/when he will actually be a Blue. He will be one year from free agency upon the completion of next season. Blues GM Doug Armstrong: "After talking to Jimmy and his family the past couple days, the organization fully supports his decision to ...

Re: News and Games around the NHL

Yeah, I thought Olcyck got carried away there. First off, that's just 1 year. The guys is still unproven. And we see it here in St. Louis all the time, we seem to find cost effective quality bottom 6 guys with no problem all the time . No thanks. We do? I think so. It's part of Blues history. It's ...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

What's the ETA on Dvorsky? Next year?? That's my assumption. Comes to camp next year with a chance to make the team. He turns 19 in June... Think he'll be ready?? Probably not. But I'm basing that off his first exposure to playing against players not his age in the SHL which did not go well at all....

Re: News and Games around the NHL

He's having a career year at age 27, on one of the best offensive teams in the NHL this season. If he keeps this production up (45-50 point, solid 2-way game), that might be worth it for some teams. I think he'll return to form, though, (20-25 points)and be a very good bottom-6 guy, though, and tha...

Re: Blues 2023-2024 season thread

That's my assumption. Comes to camp next year with a chance to make the team. If Binner can stay intact here, we're going to have our 2nd Cup in 3 or 4 years. JMO Yup, just need every single one of these forward prospects to hit their 100% potential and one or two of them to become a defenseman. ;)...

Change in draft strategy next time?
You two can talk about it on the golf course together.
