Re: Ivan Barbashev

Yeah, he's tearing up the Q this season...pretty much like how Jaskin put up 99 pts in 51 games his only season in the Q. And quite honestly, I think Jaskin is a pretty good comparable for Barbashev. I see Barbs as having good but not great offensive skills but he also is big, physical and tenaciou...

Re: GM's considering 3-on-3 in OT..

Regarding goalies being fair game to be hit outside of the crease, that's never ever going to happen. Goalie equipment is designed to stop pucks, not take hits. Goalies would be massacred if all f a sudden they would be fair game to be hit. The Lucic cheap shot on Ryan Miller a few years ago would ...

Re: Ivan Barbashev

Had 4 points Saturday at home against Acadie-Bathurst. He now has 43g 49a 92pts with three games to play. It would be amazing if he were to reach 100 points in 58 games but Moncton has two of those three games against a very talented Halifax team. I know there has been a lot of conversation this se...

Re: Bort Four Games On

The only advantage I can give Cole, is his shot. Other than that, Bort is clearly better. In terms of hockey sense, he's miles ahead of Cole. Defensively, his first instinct is to take the body, badly needed on this defensive corps of stick checkers. Not sure I'd say Cole has a better shot. Bort ha...

Re: It all evens itself out

Elliott just needs to be good, not great with this Blues team. If he can avoid the softies we have seen in the past, then I'll be happy with that. I don't expect him to steal games like Quick in the playoffs.

Re: Jaskin

Love Jaskin's game especially in the last 20 games or so he's really come into his own. His skating seems improved, and he's creating his own chances in addition to finishing some of Stastny's setups. Jaskin could have easily had two goals tonight. His size is nice to have in our top 9. I think he ...

How could it not be?
I agree.

They do have Rinne though. When he is on, he is the hockey equivalent to white-out. He covers a lot of errors.

Re: Michalek

The Blues defense is already one of the best in the league, and Michalek will make them even better. He is a top 4 guy on most teams. It is a testament to the Blues that he will most likely be paired with Jax on the bottom pairing, but with Hitch you never know. He is a proven vet that is one of the...

Re: Jaskin

My favorite part of his game is that he goes full steam ahead to the goal. Hitch has to love his style because it is always north and south towards the goal. Scary thing is that he'll get stronger. He could be a top power forward in my mind. Also I can't wait to see him play with Barbashev because t...

Re: Best Player To Get Away?

Based on the age they were traded I would go with Brind'Amour & then Doug Gilmour. It was a bummer seeing Hull go but in reality I think it was best for both sides. Yep...Brind'Amour could easily be that guy as well. I've always said the Blues broke my heart twice... the day they traded Gilmour...

Re: Defining Playoff Success

There are different schools of thought, but I'm curious to see how people will define this for this organization as it moves forward. If the Blues beat Minnesota, then Nashville, but lose to LA in round 3 is that a success? I'd be disappointed if this team doesn't make the finals. I think they are ...

Re: Blues Sign Parayko

I've seen this kid play a half a dozen times now (mostly in Mankato), and his three strongest assets are; 1. He covers a lot of ice. One stride and that wingspan must cover like 12ft. 2. Wins battle. Rarely does he lose any battle for a puck. 3. Plays mistake free hockey. Its a simple game-plan, bu...
