Re: Blues report very few season ticket cancellations

It's an indisputable historical fact that women don't lie to men ... a tradition started by Jesus herself . LOL..from your own link below. Thanks for agreeing with me that Jesus NEVER existed! More than half the world knows his story, and not an original one at that as it is borrowed, we can ...

Re: Trading Bouwmeester

No. Imo, you don't throw away a legitimate #1 pairing dman who has a long record of consistency because of one injury impacted season.
Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make. I suspect that trading JayBo would fall under that category.

Re: Fucking weather warnings

God damn, this fucking moron has repeated himself 20 times already. Fucking ass clowns can't predict the weather, so they feel the need to fuck up the hockey game. Holy crap, he just keeps talking! Ok, I feel better now! That really was strange. It was like he had been told he had x number of minut...

Re: The Jackman Era is Officially Over

My favorite Jax memory was in the Playoffs against the Sharks. He had already goaded Nolan ( I think) into a penalty, but the clever Rookie smirk he followed up with incited Nolan to take aSECOND minor. Jax rarely if ever, lost control. Just steady, solid and mean. I remember that. He took that suc...

Re: The Jackman Era is Officially Over

Two comments: 1) Leadership doesn't automatically winning championships. 2) To the people saying he doesn't deserve to have #5 retired (along with Bobby Plager), I ask why #3 is retired. Gassoff was a good player, but the biggest thing he did was die. I'm not being disrespectful to him, just pointi...

Re: Bergy - Would you...

Yeah, I'd do it. Not only would it help a little on the cap, but despite his improved play over the last year or so, Bergy is infected with the "Can't seem to find another gear" virus that has killed this team in the playoffs. Eller would give you a little more energy for a couple of years...

Re: The Jackman Era is Officially Over

Totally agree. The injury to Jax's shoulder after that cheapshot by Bertuzzi, really handicapped Jax from that time on. Not only did it limit him as a fighter, but he lacked the leverage he used to have to move people out of the crease, etc. It's amazing he was able to do what he did, considering. ...

Re: The Jackman Era is Officially Over

Maybe it won't happen, but, I would love to see a #5 Plager / Jackman banner hanging from the rafters one day. Probably won't happen, but I'd like it too. Maybe alongside Bobby's #5. At the least, at some point, the Blues should have some sort of ceremony to honor his service to this team for all t...

Re: The Jackman Era is Officially Over

I have no interest in seeing Gunnar in the Note as well. I would literally take a broken hockey stick for him. Jackman, man, what a great true Blue. He never lived up to the hype after his Calder trophy being paired with Chopper but a real gamer who deserves a lot of respect. It will be weird to se...

Re: Say the Blues do nothing...

I'll stop watching games and openly root against the Blues (against certain teams) if they bring back Oshie, Backes, Jackman, and Bouwmeester. I'll check to see if Shattenkirk or Tarasenko scored and watch their individual highlights if they did. Nothing could make me root against the Blues, but if...

Re: NHL banning shot-blocking?

That is just silly IMO. NHL is just as bad as most governments; instead of just enforcing the 'laws' they already have or adjusting certain ones that don't work, they want to add more laws to try and fix things. How about just being consistent with interference/hooking penalties, reduce size of goa...

Re: NHL banning shot-blocking?

yes..let's ban shot blocking, lets make the nets bigger, lets increase the size of the ice surface. JFC.....last one left, turn out the lights. Here's my thinking on increasing the net size It's probably unrealistic to get the goalie equipment back down to the size it used to be . But if you reduce...

Re: Phil Kessel. Would you?

I'd rather have Kessel than Nash Without a doubt. I don't know how much of the stuff you hear about Kessel is fact or fiction, but from what I've seen on the ice, he reminds me of Hull. A true pain in the ass, but a guy that wants to score so bad that he will pay the price to make it happen. Nash o...

Re: Offseason Overhaul

A agree with most of this but you're far, far too harsh on Petro. He isn't flashy but he plays the big minutes against the opposition and they don't score all that often when he's on the ice. Sure his offensive game isn't as great as it could be but if he were made available there would be 25 teams...

Re: Offseason Overhaul

It depends on what you mean by #1 defenseman. Technically, there are 30 #1 defensemen in the league, one on each team, and I'd actually take Petro over MANY of those. If you mean a #1 defenseman on a Stanley Cup winning team, you're only talking about a handful of players over almost the last decad...

Re: Offseason Overhaul

1. If anybody truly believed the Blues were serious Cup contenders the past 3 years, they were kidding themselves. They simply were not as good as the Kings and Hawks. They choked against the Wild. 2. We may well see new faces before next season, but you've got to wait. If we don't make some seriou...

It's not how many, it's which ones that matter.
Two significant changes would be huge.
