Re: Coaching staff turnover

People seem to forget that he basically had back to back 20 goal seasons (22 and 19) with Dallas, so while he wasn't good offensively in his time here, he had skill playing the game.

I think he could be a good fit. Curious to see.

Re: Other games tonight

We are within one game of having maybe the least interesting, least star studded, and possibly the least national appeal Stanley Cup finals in hockey history. Bobby Ryan! The new face of the NHL! That'll be a popular opinion, but Erik Karlson is likely the 3rd best player in the world. People just ...

Re: Other games tonight

I used to like PK...then I didn't. I like him again after last night. Keep putting them pucks into your own net :) I like PK a lot, and truly believe more players should be like him. I just don't think he's as good of a player as some make him out to be. He's also not as bad a player as others make...

Re: Offseason Moves

I see your point, but do any of those left wingers boast the scoring title and mvp for any league they've ever played for? It would be lunacy imho to let a player with those bona fides walk. Here's a list of the last 20 AHL MVPs. Spezza stands out, but that was the lockout year. Other than that, Ty...

Re: Other games tonight

What a clinic Pitt put on in the third. Washington didn't have anything that period.

Really curious what that team does this year. If they blow it up, could Backstrom be available?

Re: Post mortem

Bordeur will hire new goalie coach, and he's going back to AGM role if what he did had any bearing on how jake played, this makes me sad. The good thing is that Brodeur will be making the hiring decision with Allen's style and psyche in mind. Which makes sense, you have a coach who fits the player/...

Armstrong on Fabbri

Interesting to hear him say what we likely all thought. Fabbri likely too his foot off the gas a little last summer. Makes sense with this poor start. I think this knee injury could be a blessing, long term, even as frustrating as I'm sure it was. I expect big things next year from Fabbri, which is ...

Re: Other games tonight

you learn how to cope with and/or compensate for your traits, but the instinct is always present. i was married to a pathological liar and spent years trying to get through it, but in the end - people don't change. That's a sad outlook on life. Not all people change, but saying that a young kid can...

Re: Other games tonight

point is, people don't change . he just learned to suppress that instinct. yes, of course i would enjoy having a player of his caliber on our team. but, an asshole is still an asshole. like kariya. The bolded part is flat out wrong. Are you suggesting you haven't matured at all in your life? I know...

Re: Offseason Moves

I want to see Dunn running the PP here come October. I want to get away from the veteran depth forwards and I want us to get younger and faster. I want Kyrou to at least get a 9 game tryout. If he earns it, then give him a chance to show what he's got. Another year in Junior does him no good. Use a...

Re: Sanford projection

I was really impressed with him this year. Obviously needs some maturing / growing / beefing up to occur in his game, but he showed some real impressive flashes. I'd agree with Tim in that there's zero reason he shouldn't be a 20 goal scorer - 45/50 point guy. His playmaking / puck decisions were th...

Re: Post mortem

That's an insanely high price to unload a player. It won't take anywhere near that if they need to dump him. He was bad this year, but he can be a useful, responsible player. I think you're probably right, maybe it only is a 2nd rounder or maybe 3rd. I would just be desperate to get rid of him. Blu...

Re: Post mortem

Add Edmundson to the list of pleasant surprises this season, and especially the postseason. To me, even more than the unexpected offensive production, he never looked overwhelmed or outmatched in the playoffs. The two second year defensemen are major pluses for the future. Fully agree. He had a bit...

Re: Post mortem

This summer will be very interesting. If I'm Armstrong, you offer LV one of your first rounders to take Lehtera off the Blues hands. That contract is manageable for them. Keep him two years, then dump him. Blues need to find a way to pick up another top scoring player, hopefully center. I think the...
