Re: The never was

I had higher hopes for #37 Harry York. ... (York) was at least half First Nations ... Several web sources - including the NativeHockey.com "Past Legends" page - indicate that York is full-blooded Cree. He's also another former NHL-er who was at one time a pro roller hockey player .

Re: Olympics/CBA

I think North American pro players can go. Just not NHLers. ... According to Stephen Whyno's July 20th story for AP News ... Players on American Hockey League contracts will be eligible to play in the 2018 Winter Olympics. President and CEO David Andrews confirmed through a league spokesman Wednesd...

Re: Olympics/CBA

... Last time, when the lockout was over, I abstained from watching, listening, or attending, the identical number of games involved in the lockout. Obviously, the NHL and the NHLPA are squaking in the boots right now, fearing I will do the same this time.... :D :D :D But, I felt better about it. :...

Re: Olympics/CBA

Ah cool. Thanks for the clarification. I've never really read up much on that side of the business. Anytime I see the word lockout associated with the NHL, I get a little worried You missed the key point, Matty. You SHOULD be worried. There will almost certainly be another NHL work stoppage. It jus...

Re: Olympics/CBA

This is old news. The NHLPA rejected the League's idea of extending the current CBA back in early December 2016 . (NHLPA executive director Don) Fehr said there was no appetite among players to extend the agreement for nine more seasons (including this one) in what would effectively be the career li...

Re: Olympic Hockey

And to think Joe Mullen passed up the opportunity to play for the 1980 Olympic squad and instead opted to sign a contract with the St. Louis Blues. Fantastic move by the Blues but can you imagine the possible superstar status Joey could of gotten had he played on that team? ... Monday morning quart...

Re: In a Perfect World

Need to start a grassroots movement to get Tim as the Blues GM. Looking forward to the fire Tim threads. And on what grounds would NHLTIM be fired, when all he proposes are trades to teams would "would have ever accepted that deal to begin with so it's a moot point"? Oh, yeah, right, we'r...

Isn't that ironic? I've heard something very similar said about T.C. and BNF. 8-)

Re: How many Blues fans does it take?

is turk a gideon? Not even close...for example, the Gideon's would never recognize Bigfoot's contribution to the world as we know it. If he'd just stand still for a bit, the Gideons would most certainly witness to him then weigh him down with their bibles to distribute God's Word to the unbelievers...

14-hour drive. They can make it in a long day, or an overnighter.

Re: The Alamo

@BillP: So are you predicting the same fate for the Blues' next AHL affiliation that was met by defenders of the famous outpost? As long as they don't have an idiot in charge, like William Barret Travis, they should be fine. Old Buck was a lawyer as well as a Lt. Colonel. I prefer to focus on the d...

Re: The Alamo

Just what we thought was already decided, but had to be announced officially. ... Although it was speculated about, I am still glad it is official. At least it is only one year without an affiliate. This ain't official. Unless Rutherford is now the Director of Media Relations for the St. Louis Blues.
