Re: if hitch walks away

A lot of good points made in this thread. Spot-on assessment by MissouriMook. It is frustrating that it is the same issues EVERY year. Makes me want to remove my shoe and beat my head with it... many times. Something to consider moving forward though: The fact that Hitch (or anyone else) is a good ...

Re: RNH

Too many letters on the back of the jersey. Wouldn't look right. Hall would be better... even looks a little bit like "Hull."

Re: Thoughts on Jay

My only concern is his health. The drop off with a lower body injury is amazing with him, but I agree on all above. He's a softie, but he's damn good when healthy. Agree. I thought he was their best defenseman in 13/14 and I thought he sucked in 14/15. Their decision of what to do with him should b...

Re: Sports franchise futility list

If I may interject.... The AFL/NFL merger did not formally take place until after the 1969 season. That is, the first four Super Bowls were essentially the NFL and AFL champions playing each other (and it wasn't that big a deal back then). It would have been comparable to the Oilers (WHA champions)...

Re: Stillman to be on KMOX momentarily

Thx for the recap insideout Mr Stillman said it isn't an effort problem with the players on the ice and it isn't a motivation issue. That is a little disappointing because I think the fans that watched the games would not agree, at all. However, I think these boys played HARD most of the season. Mo...

Re: Stillman to be on KMOX momentarily

A few highlights for those who missed it. There was video of the interview via the Blues mobile app. I've seen Tom Stillman several times on TV and a couple of times in person and he is ordinarily a very upbeat person. In this interview he looks absolutely disgusted.... and exhausted. So a brief sum...

Re: Sports franchise futility list

Rooting for the Blues is like penance for the Cardinals. I thought that's what the Rams were for. Oh wait, never mind... I just remembered, the Rams are here (for now) to help the Blues sell tickets by making perpetual first round exits actually look appealing. The Rams won a Super Bowl and played ...

Re: My Honest Assessment

2. Backes should be moved to RW, as he just doesn't have the ability to create from the center position. He is a legitimate scoring line PF on any team in this league, and IMO he's a fine captain (his captaincy has little to do with the teams ice performance), but he doesn't have the ability to fin...

Re: Sports franchise futility list

Vikings won a championship in 1969. No they didn't. 1969 Super Bowl champions - New York Jets 1970 Super Bowl champions - Kansas City Chiefs (over the Vikings) If I may interject.... The AFL/NFL merger did not formally take place until after the 1969 season. That is, the first four Super Bowls were...

Re: Breaking News out of NY!

I keep seeing the Penguins included on lists of NHL chokers. They've strung together a few years of playoff failure, but historically speaking they can't hang with the elite chokers. Four appearances in the finals, three Stanley Cups in the last 25 years.... Amateurs!

Re: Stillman should fire Army tomorrow

Stillman is in danger of losing fans. He'd better hope Tarasenko stays healthy next year because there is nothing else about the current team that is compelling. Even if they steamroll through the regular season, what does it matter? For this reason, keeping the current regime intact is almost not e...

Re: Sports franchise futility list

The tweeters have been spewing some fun facts today... For example, the Blues have won fewer post '05 lockout playoff games than the Oilers.... Also, there are people claiming that they are the only professional sports teams with three consecutive first-round losses as the higher seed. ... Not to me...

Re: I love this forum and you posters...

...but I'm going to have to take the Summer off from the forum to recover from yet another Blues massive playoff failure. Best wishes to everyone here to have a great off-season. I hope you have wonderful family time and BBQ. See you all in the Fall. :) Well check in from time to time because I thi...

Re: line up

I find Schwartz's performance to be more disturbing than Oshie's. The Oshie dud was predictable. If the Blues were to pull this out, I'm fairly certain Schwartz would find his game, but as of now.... major disappointment.

Re: Tom Stillman

I don't know that there's anything that could be said that would change anything. But man I would love to have been a fly on the wall.

Re: No Lehtera tonight?

Hitch says he is 50/50 for tonight, but he's leaning towards him playing. Timmerman article on pd site. Hitch's quote made me laugh. I'm glad math isn't a necessary skill for hockey coaches. If you're leaning towards playing him then he's not 50/50! Regardless, hopefully he can play tonight but if ...
