Preds Fans

I think just about everyone outside of Nashville hates Preds fans, with their stupid chants, flying off the handle at every perceived missed call, etc. However, I do have to give them props for something. They stand by their team. The first goal Rene allowed was pretty soft. Did the fans boo? Nope. ...

Re: Phaneuf/Gaborik Trade

Didn’t see this one coming. I wonder if the Sens will continue to clear cap space. But Gaborik's cap is over 5m plus for next 3 years. Not much of a clearance. According to NHL Network radio the Sens will pay 25% of Phaneuf's salary for the remainder of is contract, so it really is a wash money wise.

Re: The fix?

... HF is great, but those guy are really into their hockey!! A lot of the discussions over there go right over my head (perhaps that says more about me than them!! ... We've just been dumbing it down for you on here. You're welcome. Thanks for keeping it dumb!! What I meant was that they are...

Re: The fix?

I was really glad to find this place. I am a Blues fan! I want to discuss and support the team, not participate in a pissing match. HF is great, but those guy are really into their hockey!! A lot of the discussions over there go right over my head (perhaps that says more about me than them!! :D ) An...

Is it even cooler that it was spelled as all one word: FireAntz?
You're Killing me!!!

Re: Scott Darling

:D Yeah, it's not the glory days of the AHL, but still some fun hockey at a price families can still afford. I live in NC now and last year drove to Fayetteville NC to see the Rivs play the Fayetteville Ice Dogs, (they are now the Minutemen, not nearly as cool a name IMO!!) Needless to say I was th...

Re: Scott Darling

Now that we got the win over him, I figured I'd post this. He has a great story. First ever player from the SPHL (Southern Professional Hockey League, don't beat yourself up if you've never heard of it!!) to make it to the NHL. I thought Rivermen fans beat themselves up because they have heard of t...

Scott Darling

Now that we got the win over him, I figured I'd post this. He has a great story. First ever player from the SPHL (Southern Professional Hockey League, don't beat yourself up if you've never heard of it!!) to make it to the NHL. They guy has literally played for every professional league in North Ame...

Re: Blais

I worked on the morning show at Y-98 in the mid 90's. I got to meet a lot of the big stars of that era, including Hull, Oates, CuJo, and others. I also was from Peoria, so I got to meet some guys before they even made it to the NHL. To a man, from the biggest star to the youngest rookie, they were a...

Face offs

I think we all agree that face offs are important and an area we need to improve on, though it does seem like we are doing a little better I am a Blues fan. I enjoy hockey, but mostly I'm a Blues fan. Could someone with more hockey knowledge or experience please explain face offs to me. How do you w...

Re: Husso re-called

It would have been nice they could've let Tyler Stewart sit on the bench in the first. I guess Huso was listed as the back up "goalie of record", so if Stewart were on the bench He would have had to "play" the entire game. He seemed pretty stoked about the whole situation either ...

Re: Third line

This is where the loss of Fabbri really hurts. If he were healthy you'd have him or Sobotka on the third line, which would be pretty solid with the addition of Berglund. As it stands now I don't think there's much you can hope for in terms of improvement. The kids didn't seem to be ready early in t...

Lehtera

Jori waas really flying last night. You could tell he really had something to prove to his old team. Must have heard his number called 20 times! He had a couple of good scoring chances and a some of them he even took the shot instead of trying to dish!! He always seemed like a good guy. I think the ...

Re: Ice Guardians

Maybe more 10 min misconducts and game ejections would help. I know it would be hard on the refs to make this call, but it might help out with the cheap shots

Interesting article on Jagr

According to Jagr, the reason he signed with Calgary had more to do with the opportunity for playing time than the contract offered. "One thing is there were not many options (in the NHL)," Jagr said. "The offers have been much alike. But the factor for me was also that Calgary had be...

Re: Cutting The Cable

Unless you do one of them fake IP address things which make it look like you live outside the STL area, yes, you will be blacked out. But it is great. I live in the TB market, and watched or could have watched every game last season. Unless you get like hockeystreams, a 'fake IP' (or whatever it is...
