The Stastny call was definitely within the bounds of the rulebook for slashing. It's still a terrible call in the spirit of things. A "slash" like that happens a hundred times a game without getting called, because the opponent actually holds onto his stick and nothing comes of it. Myers ...

I've looked at the replay a few times. That should have been called unsportsmanlike or diving on Myers....or the right call would be good goal, no penalty on Myers. Sorry, he didn't swing at Myers, he was battling for stick position to receive the pass. Defenders do it all the time to prevent scorin...

As much as I hate to admit it, the right call was made. Stats is a wizard with his stick. His hands are so fast, I didn't see his downward slash in real time. The replay clearly shows it. Which actually makes me appreciate the skill level of the official that much more. HOWEVER.....the double minor...
